V prispevku podajamo pregled razvoja uporabe e-računov v organizacijah v Sloveniji.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live and businesses operate. Various industries and sectors were affected, which had a strong impact on economic growth. Micro, small, and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) were not exception. While SMEs in comparison to large enterprises lag behind in digital transformation, but are important part of worlds economy, we are interested in their digital transformation pushed forward by the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to gain a comprehensive view of the events related to the digital transformation of companies in the last two years, we conducted interviews with six Slovenian SMEs. Based on the collected data, we present preliminary findings and discuss opportunities for further research in this field.

Background and Purpose: Business model innovation (BMI) has become increasingly important, especially in the fast changing business environment. While large enterprises approach these changes systematically, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are left to their own resourcefulness. For the purpose of developing dedicated methods and tools to support different SMEs in addressing these challenges, we have conducted a multiple case study to gain insights into factors that drive SMEs to innovate their BM, how they approach BMI and what changes they made to their BM. Design/Methodology/Approach: First the framework of analysis was developed based on BMI research frameworks identified in literature review. Then the multiple case studies were conducted following the case study protocol developed by Envision project. Results: Based on the proposed framework the results of four Slovene SME cases revealed differences between enterprises regarding the drivers behind BMI and changes in us...

For several decades, we are witnessing the exchange of e-invoices. In Slovenia e-invoicing started in 2001 with the project “Electronic commerce of Slovenian enterprises”. The result of this project was standard named eSLOG. Furthermore, the advanced e-invoicing ecosystem was established which enabled enterprises to more easily exchange e-invoices. Moreover, since January 2015, all budget users can only receive e-invoices, which contributed to a larger share of e-invoicing. Despite all these incentives, data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia from 2019 show that only 58% of the observed companies have exchange e-invoices in a form suitable for automated processing and more than half of these companies have sent less than 10% of these type of e-invoices. In order to determine the current state of use of e-invoices, the advantages and obstacles as well as what incentives are needed to expand the use of e-invoices, a survey among Slovenian companies was conducted i...

Autonomous vehicles (AV) have the potential to disrupt the entire transport industry. AV may bring many opportunities as for example reduction of road accidents, less congestion on the roads, and a lower number of vehicles that are better utilized. Full AV also brings new social element as they enable mobility for all. In addition, the use of digital technologies in combination with AV introduces new business models in transportation, where the lines between car ownership, rental, and lease modes are more and more blurred. To explore the potential of AV in a smart city context, the AV Living Lab was created on the premises of BTC City in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2017. The AV Living lab was created to test and to learn about real-life solutions for implementation of AV. The underlying concept is BTC City as a Living lab innovation ecosystem, where the latest advanced technologies, business models, and services are tested with real users, real cars, on real roads over the real interact...

Implementation of digital technologies leads enterprises and governments towards digital transformation. While some enterprises are successful in their digital journey, many still remain behind. Digitalization and digital transformation are of key importance for increased efficiency, improved value proposition, innovation and overall growth of the economy as well as wellbeing of the society. For that reason, decision makers and policy makers need to understand current situation of digital transformation in enterprises to set up proper actions and policies for its expansion. The impact of digital transformation is measured with various digital indicators and assessment techniques on country and enterprise level. Based on the open data provided from different reports on digital transformation this paper summarizes current state of digital transformation in enterprises in Slovenia and Croatia. Furthermore, we provide comparison between analyzed countries and EU average.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems have become the de facto standard for large and medium companies to run all their major functional and process operations. Some even describe ERP systems as the price of entry for running a business. ERP system per se cannot be perceived as a source of competitive advantage anymore, since a significant percentage of companies already implemented them. On the other hand, innovation plays an increasingly important role in sustaining competitiveness. Although ERP systems could be perceive as constraining and inflexible, i.e. ERP systems may seem incommensurate with the notion of innovation, this is not the case in real life. It may be argued that innovation capabilities can be improved by ERP systems because of improved transparency and better information flow. The paper addresses two research questions: 1) What does academic literature says about the combination of ERP systems and innovations? 2) How important are improved innovation capabili...

In this paper, we describe experience with teaching e-Commerce courses at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Maribor that focus on e-marketplace adoption. E-marketplaces are new business models using recent e-commerce technologies. Our teaching model presents several approaches. Some examples are: European Commission sponsored research projects like eMarketServices, eBusiness and W@tch reports. Also use of e-marketplace technology platforms (Oracle Exchange) for hands-on experiences and prototype development for company-sponsored student projects. This model demonstrates an example of knowledge transfer from research and technology providers to companies and other organizations using student-led projects.

Business model innovation (BMI) is one of the key activities, which has to be continuously undertaken in every enterprise to sustain competitiveness in today’s digital economy. Although the interest in business models (BM) has risen significantly since the late 1990s, little is known about BMI practices in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), representing a majority of enterprises in the European market. Our study addresses this research gap and focuses on the investigation of drivers and outcomes of BMI in SMEs. A partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) method was used to empirically test the model using data collected in 2017 from 71 SMEs in Slovenia. Results have shown that the innovativeness of enterprises and their business environment has a positive impact on the level of BMI activities in the enterprises. However, this is not the case of fast developing and rapidly changing information technology. In addition, the results show that the level of BMI has a positive ...

ABSTRACT The paper presents the Living Lab approach for the creation of a prototype solution aimed for supporting sustainable tourism in Gorenjska region. Involving users in the process of co-creation is one of the key elements in the Living Lab approach. A Living Lab is an environment in which researchers, developers and users cooperate with the common objective of delivering a tested product, solution or service respecting the users' requirements. The motivation is to bring together various actors in the field of tourism services development in the Gorenjska region, to create innovative solutions for supporting, promoting and encouraging development of sustainable tourism in the region and development of the region itself. The aim is to develop a web-based prototype solution that include geo location information and social networks in the Living Lab approach. The result of our research is a design of a prototype and a critical analysis of the co-creation process.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system implementation is probably the most laborious and rather costly part of the ERP system life-cycle. The paper provides a percentage structure of total cost of implementation (TCI) from end-user company's perspective. It should be of interest to companies planning to implement ERP systems, since literature suggests that TCI can be 3-5 times higher than the

ABSTRACT The tourism sector in the Gorenjska region, where outstanding natural, historical and geographical potentials are supported by national and regional policies, still faces many challenges in terms of attracting more tourists for longer periods. We address this problem with an open innovation approach, bringing together tourism service providers, end-users (tourists), information and communication technology providers and policy makers; and with the establishing of a regional tourism living lab, which is a real life environment in which researchers, developers and users are co-creating new products or services. We describe the process and experiences of the user-centered design of the web-based platform for sustainable development of tourism services in a living lab context. The phases of the co-design process of web platform development are described, from idea formation through prototype development, testing, and gathering user feedback through several workshops. The final outcome, the “GoGorenjska” web platform, is presented, and further research is outlined. Based on the feedback from tourism service providers and tourists, we can conclude that the platform itself has vast open innovation potential, providing a critical mass of users in the phase of full production on the market.
