    This research aims to analyze and identify intrinsic elements in the form of theme, figurative language, and diction, then analyze extrinsic elements in the form of social elements in poetry making and analyze racism reflected in Audre Lorde's poems entitled Power (1978), Who Said It Was Simple (1973) and A Woman Speaks (1984). The method use in this research was a qualitative method. Reading the poem in order to comprehend its overall meaning and discover the meaning which was primarily the essence related to the topic was how the data was collected. This research, there were found 16 data from three themes, 42 figurative languages, 38 dictions, and 17 racism data from three Audre Lorde poems.     This research aims to analyze the types of startup business development methods and their relations to entrepreneurship. The research was conducted using exploratory research, which focuses on various types of startup business methods within the scope of entrepreneurship and describes them qualitatively. According to the analysis findings, several business startup development methods are relevant to today's business developments, including lean startup, lean canvas, design thinking, and agile. One of the four approaches, lean startup, is widely employed in establishing new enterprises. Lean startup is a business model in which the client serves as a trial object for the product being created in order to collect immediate feedback and make modifications depending on the demands of the consumer. In conclusion, entrepreneurship facilitated the presence of startup businesses by prioritizing meeting customer needs in accordance with the methods used to maximize business profits.

The aim of this study was to analyze and identify the functions took from three different online newspapers, Jakarta Post, Jakarta Globe, and Tempo, with the context of educational news on the topic, "Merdeka Belajar Curriculum". This study used a qualitative approach as its methodology. The data was taken from the websites of Jakarta Post, Jakarta Globe, and Tempo. A functional English grammar was employed to analyze the data.     The existence of technological media in the learning process has its own roles and challenges in this era of disruption. The purpose of this study is the extent to which the use of technological media supports learning English in junior high schools and the equivalent. The research method used is the survey method. The research was conducted in 36 public and private junior high schools and Madrasah Tsanawiah in Kuningan Regency by collecting data through a Google form questionnaire. The results obtained turned out that of the 59 teachers who filled out the Google form, as many as 86.4% of English teachers used laptops, handphones with infocus, frequently used applications, Whatsapp 28.8%, Power Point 22%, Youtube 32.2%, and E-learning 16.9%. However, 88.1% stated that teachers had not maximized the use of technological media in learning English.     Mastering vocabulary in English is such an essential facet that learners would be able to own productive and receptive skill needed to get their messages across and decipher the conveyed ones towards them. This Class Action Research (CAR) aims at pinpointing the intervention of Crossword Puzzle as a medium of teaching-learning vocabulary on Personal Recount Text. Collaborating with the classroom teacher, its use in one class of eight graded students in a public junior high school in West Java is conducted together with the instruments of observation and tests.     Working on writing argumentative essay instructions has been practices in a non-formal language learning settings. Yet, its students' pursued claims are not fully explored as an evaluativion of how student-writers interact as conveying arguments with the readers. Investigating the linguistic resources on which they develop and evaluate these, two selected English Language essays were looked into regarding to exploitation of macrostructures in them. Subsequently, they were captured within the framework of appraisal theory as to emerge various trends relative to the employment of engagement resource types, combined with the other resources in confirming claims: graduation and attitudinal ones.     This paper investigated the effect of teacher�s written feedbacks in recount writing competence and the students� attitudes towards written feedbacks. Giving written feedbacks helps students to decrease their errors and gives guidance in writing as a beginner writer. This study employed a quantitaive and qualitative research design. The experimental group given written feedbacks. For measuring the effect of written feedbacks, a pretest and posttest was administered to both group. Meanwhile, for getting their attitudes toward teacher�s written feedbacks was administered questionnaire and open-ended interview. Based on the data, teacher�s written feedbacks gave positive effects on their improvement in recount writing competence. The result of questionnaire and interview showed that students got real guidance and special attention individually in their writing process as a beginner writer.Keywords: written feedbacks, recount writing competence, attitudes.

    This research draws on a sociolinguistics study of slang word commonly encountered in social media aimed to conduct to identify the types and analyze the function of slang. The data are elicited from natural conversation among the members of Potatoes Crew WhatsApp Group. This research uses a case study qualitative method for in-depth analysis so as to understand the activity and the process of their using slang words. The result of this research identifies seventy slang words or phrases. The classification of categories of slang types are fresh and creative (41,4%), flippant (0%), imitative (20%), acronym (18,6%), clipping (20%). Regarding the slang functions, the variety of coverage are to address (8,6%), to reveal anger (7,15%), to show intimacy (7,15%), to form intimate atmosphere (0%), to humiliate (20%) and to initiate relax conversation (57,1%).     This study was focused on analyzing the existence of Thematic Progression in selected written texts taken from “Creative English Workbook” for tenth grade students in Senior High School. The objectives of this study were to find out the patterns of Thematic Progression employed in selected written texts and to reveal what the patterns of Thematic Progression indicate in selected texts. This study was conducted by using a qualitative method emphasized on Critical Discourse Analysis. In this study, eighteen written texts in three different genres were collected from “Creative English Workbook” for tenth grade students in Senior High School through document study. The result of this study showed that three Thematic Progression patterns were employed in selected written texts, namely Theme Reiteration, Zig-zag Theme, and Multiple-Rheme. Three conveniently selected student-writers� hortatory argumentative essays in English in which they were course-instructed in an accredited language institution were linguistically analyzed as to pinpoint their aptness to employ particular modality, furthermore to discuss the feasible resource factors on their employment.     Lexical semantic changes were pinpointed on three distinct generations of Kuningan Region so as to find out their tapestry and figure out their prevalent influential factors. They were both analyzed and identified by the employment of the qualitative descriptive method with questionnaires and interview as data collection techniques. It was shown that referring to 141 appearances, broadening and narrowing meaning took up respectively 24.82% and 7.09%. Meanwhile, both Ameliorization and Pejorization made up 29.07%, while Taboo comprised 9.92%. Subsequently, it was notified that all factors were of prevalence, namely linguistic,historical,psychological,social causes, foreign language influences, and novel word needs. It is concluded that typical types of lexical semantic changes as well as their determining factors are prevalently identified. It is imperative that corpus study be implemented and timelines related- lexical semantic changes be touched upon for the further research.

    This research presents an interpersonal meaning analysis of two online news concerning Ahok�s blasphemy case in the two online news portals. The two selected news coming from The Jakarta Post and Republika.co.id were analyzed to find out the mood types and to describe the underlying reason of the news from the differences of modality system. This descriptive qualitative research involved the analysis of mood and modality types of clauses identified. As results, it shows that the interpersonal meaning was applied. Yet, not all mood or modality types appeared in the two online news. There is only one mood and one modality type appeared, namely indicative which is declarative type and modalization which is probability type. This research aimed at finding the types of presupposition and describing the functions of presupposition in advertisement found in consumer advertisement slogans of the Jakarta post newspaper. Yule’s theory and descriptive qualitative research method applied in this research. 20 slogans of consumer advertisement of the Jakarta Post newspaper on  March 2016 edition selected to this research.
