Bruno Pompeu is an advertiser, graduated in 2004 from the School of Communications and Arts, University of São Paulo (ECA-USP). He holds a master's degree (2009) and a doctorate (2013) in Communication Sciences from the University of São Paulo (PPGCOM-USP), having dedicated himself since then to the studies of consumption, language and communication, advertising, based on theoretical and methodological semiotics. He is a professor at the University of São Paulo in the Publicity and Propaganda course at the School of Communications and Arts (ECA-USP). He is a member of the Semiotic Studies Group in Communication, Culture and Consumption (GESC3) and the Southeast regional representative of the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Advertising (ABP2). He is the author of the books "Where did advertising come from, where is it and where is it going?" (2021), "Semio-publicity: epistemology and curriculum of advertising" (2018) and co-author of the "Technical and Critical Dictionary of Advertising Communication" (2012). He regularly participates in national and international academic events, always in the areas of communication, advertising, consumption and semiotics. He is one of the founding partners of Casa Semio, a space dedicated to research in semiotics, focusing on issues of advertising language, developing studies that support and subsidize the creation of concepts, creation of advertising campaigns, brand language and tone of voice, developments various tactics (packaging, visual identity, communication, etc.).
