Africa’s Public Service Delivery and Performance Review
Enhancing public project implementation in Botswana during the NDP 11 periodSuccessful project implementation is critical in development planning. If there is poor project implementation, economic development will be stalled. Generally, public project implementation has a chequered history. This is particularly true in developing countries which are characterised by low levels of project management maturity. The objective of this article is to review public project implementation in Botswana and recommend improvements for the National Development Plan (NDP) 11 period (2017/2018-2022/2023). The article used the survey strategy and adopted the descriptive approach. Data collection sources were mixed, that is, primary and secondary sources. It concluded that public projects are either poorly implemented (i.e. not implemented in accordance with the ‘Project Management Triple Constraint’ of cost, time and scope) or not implemented at all. Given a constrained revenue envelope post 2008, there is a need for improved project implementation. Amongst others, this cal...

İngiliz Medyasında İsrail-Filistin Savaşının Haberin Tarafgirliği Ekseninde Değerlendirmesi - The Analysis Of The Israel-Palestine War In British Media Based On Bias In The NewsThe fundamental quality of news is objectivity. On the other hand, the ownership structure of the media and the ideological and political relations it is involved in significantly affect the impartiality of the news. International media organisations control news's implicit messages and meanings. Whether these organisations are objective is essential in global interest, such as wars, crises, and coups. On this basis, the study discussed how the British media's portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian war in terms of news bias. Britain has a historic role in Israeli-Palestinian relations. In addition, the British media have a global influence. Aceleración sin-distancia. Acotaciones heideggerianas sobre la era tecnológica Non-distance acceleration. Heideggerian Annotations on the Technological Era2022 •
This text seeks to highlight the conditions that allowed the conception of time in the contemporary technological to become acceleration and immediacy based on what Heidegger calls "non-distance." For this purpose, the text is divided in three sections. First, following Heidegger's interpretation of the essence of modernity, I will deal with the presuppositions that will give birth to the contemporary technical age and its respective modes of development, one of them being the technological era. In the second section, I will delve into the phenomenon of spatiality exposed in Being and Time, as a constitutive element to understand how the phenomenon of time became an acceleration from the non-distance and the loss of remoteness and proximity. Finally, in the third section, I will reflect on current temporality and its respective modes of interpretation from the space-time separation. The main purpose is to carry out a thematic reconstruction from the Heideggerian postulates that account for the ways in which the conception of time has been drastically transformed to discern some of its dangers and explore new ways in which the conception of time has become acceleration.
