Anti-bacterial activity

Nyctanthes arbortristis (N. Arbortristis) is one of the most useful traditional medicinal plants in India. It is distributed widely in sub-Himalayan regions and Southwards to Godavari. Each part of the plant has some important medicinal value and is thus commercially exploitable. It is now considered as a valuable source of several unique products for the medicines against various diseases and also for the development of some industrial products. The present review is to focus on the potential phyto-chemicals and pharmacological activity of plant N. Arbortristis. Various parts of the plant like seeds, leaves, flowers, bark and fruits have been investigated for their significant pharmacological activity. Phyto-chemicals like flavanoid, glycoside, oleanic acid, essential oils, tannic acid, carotene, friedeline, lupeol, glucose, benzoic acid have been reported for significant hair tonic, hepatoprotective, anti-leishmaniasis, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-pyretic, anti-histaminic, anti-malerial, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant activities of Night jasmine and emphasizes the need for further exploring available information.

Aim: The current venture, were made to evaluate the inhibitory effect of Trigonella foenum seed Extract and ZiO2 Nanoparticles on some selected species of Fungi and Bacteria. Materials and Methods: two bacterial species included Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus and three fungal species which is Cryptococcus neoformans, Candida albicans and Chaetomium were used to evaluate the antibacterial activity of Trigonella foenum Extract and ZiO2
Nanoparticles. Results: This study showed that the Zirconium Oxide (ZiO2) nanoparticles have antifungal and antibacterial activities on the isolates of Cryptococcus neoformans, Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus, respectively. While the antimicrobial activity of Zirconium Oxide nanoparticles on the Chaetomium and Pseudomonas aeruginosa was negative. All tested fungi and bacterial isolates were found to be sensitive to Trigonella foenum seed extract, the results of the combination of the ZiO2 Nanoparticle and the Trigonella foenum seed extract were positive for all tested fungi isolates and bacterial isolates. The XRD analysis was done for Zirconium Oxide nanoparticles and the result showed that the biocrystallization on the surface of the Zirconium Oxide nanoparticles. The average particles size was about (29.8) nm. Conclusions: This investigation conclude that the use of Trigonella foenum seed Extract has the effect of killing all bacteria and fungi under study, result indicate the Trigonella foenum seed Extract best antibacterial efficacy than the ZiO2,and that the effectiveness is greater and more influential when mixing Trigonella foenum and ZiO2 together.

Objectives. The objective of this study was to demonstrate a successful binding of Doxyhyclate onto a titanium zirconium alloy surface. Methods. The coating was done on titanium zirconium coins in a cathodic polarization setup. The surface binding was analyzed by SEM, SIMS, UV–vis, FTIR and XPS. The in vitro biological response was tested with MC3T3-E1 murine pre-osteoblast cells after 14 days of cultivation and analyzed in RT-PCR. A rabbit tibial model was also used to confirm its bioactivity in vivo after 4 and 8 weeks healing by means of microCT. Results. A mean of 141 g/cm2of Doxy was found firmly attached and undamaged on the coin. Inclusion of Doxy was documented up to a depth of approximately 0.44 m by tracingthe12C carbon isotope. The bioactivity of the coating was documented by an in vitro study with murine osteoblasts, which showed significantly increased alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin gene expression levels after 14 days of cell culture along with low cytotoxicity. Doxy coated surfaces showed increased bone formation markers at 8 weeks of healing in a rabbit tibial model. Significance.
