In Slovakia, there are many sports clubs that are civic associations. Within towns, they are often considered as a separate entity. Management of these sports clubs in the town is very specific. A town wants to have an influence on these clubs, especially when the clubs are supported by municipal finance. In this paper, we deal with the possible management of clubs in the town within the cooperation principle. We identified the main advantages, disadvantages and points that are important for well-established cluster of sports clubs in the town.

There are analysed the data of various researchers in Ukraine, Russia, the USA and others on the distribution of socionic types in various professional and social samples. It is shown that the occupationally-social cluster, in which data is collected, has the greatest influence on the distribution of types in the sample. This cluster forms the profession, occupation, property and social status, educational and cultural level of the typed persons. The requirements for a minimum sample for statistical analysis of socionic data are formulated. It is shown that the data obtained and interpreted in a correct way demonstrate the similarity of distributions. The generalization of available information shows that the distribution of socionic types in society tends to be uniform.

of the second decade of the last century will resort to a propagandistic and
provocative language by means of groups of terms that were antagonistic
until that moment, such as the Rabochiy klubs, or Workers’ Clubs. A semantic
paradox in the will to appropriate these places proper to the new bourgeoisie
to be occupied by the new ideological postulates of the so-called culture of the
proletariat; and resulting in a new typology for the common-unity.

The present study aims to reconstruct, through oral and documental sources, the process of introducing the practice of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Grêmio Náutico União (GNU) Club, which occurred in the late 1970’s to the participation of their athletes and coaches in the Pan American Games in 1999 in Winnipeg, Canada. The documental analysis and interviews revealed that the GNU has contributed to the recognition of the state of Rio Grande do Sul as one of the poles of RG in Brazil.

Geelong, Victoria’s second city, has an AFL football club whose culture and identity is closely tied to the city itself. An analysis of its playing group for the colonial period demonstrates that this local tribalism began early. As football became professionalised towards the end of the nineteenth century, country Victoria lost power in relative terms to metropolitan Melbourne: for example, Ballarat’s three main clubs lost their senior status. But Geelong, with its one remaining senior club, prospered and was admitted to the VFL ranks in 1897. The Geelong players were the sons and nephews of the Western District squattocracy and so had access to networks of power and influence. Many attended the prestigious Geelong Grammar School and the worthy Geelong College (in surprisingly equal numbers). They pursued careers both on the land and in professional roles, and maintained the social connections they had built through the club and other local institutions. Despite their elite standing, however, they continued to be regarded by the supporter base as an embodiment of the city and a defence against the city’s Melbourne critics that Geelong was a mere ‘sleepy hollow’.

The Hibernian Catch Club was the leading Irish club of its kind, setting the standard in terms of performance. It gained status as Dublin’s longest-standing music society, and must be credited with pioneering catch and glee culture in Ireland. Its existence appears to pre-date the foundation of the most renowned London catch and glee clubs, emphasizing its significance within the wider context of catch and glee culture. This article examines the contribution that the Hibernian Catch Club made to musical life in Georgian and Victorian Dublin, contextualizing how the Club’s activities and membership reflect aspects of Dublin’s wider social, political and cultural life during this period.  The extent to which the Club reflects the traditions associated with the culture as established in England is evaluated, before the discussion turns to an exploration of the repertoire. The first golf club founded in Porto Alegre was Porto Alegre Country Club (PACC), in the beginning of the 1930’s, by the initiative of doctors and businessmen. It has become a sociability space oriented to sportive practice, promotion of competitions and balls. The club has been detached in the country in the following decades, becoming the Brazilian Golf Association’s headquarter, in 1951. This study’s aim is to rebuild how succeeded the installation of PACC in the period of the 1930’s to the 1950’s. Printed sources were consulted and an interview with a club’s partner was produced. It was verified that PACC has emerged as a space not only for golf practice, but also to congregate a group of people that circulated in the higher economic and political sphere of the city.

HESG was founded in 1972 as part of a conscious effort to establish health economics as an identifiable sub-discipline. It is debatable whether the growth of health economics was demand-led or supplier-driven, but in either case the existence of a HESG played a vital role. HESG was founded as a private club, in the tradition of English gentlemen's clubs, designed to provide a forum for debate and an invisible, supportive faculty for health economists dispersed between different organisations throughout the UK. It was given impetus by public economists at the University of York, who were effectively academic entrepreneurs, motivated in part by private gain, but by their actions overcoming the free-rider problem that might otherwise have retarded the development of health economics. Over the course of its first 25 years, HESG has changed and its membership has grown and altered in composition - over this period, HESG has evolved from a private club to a professional network. It has made a vital contribution to the existence and form of health economics as a subdiscipline in the United Kingdom, and has in turn itself been influenced by the subdiscipline. As a subdiscipline, UK health economics in the 1990s generally draws on a small body of economic theory and is practised by a distinct, identifiable group of economists. This paper was commissioned by HESG, as a history of the organisation. It also analyses the foundation and evolution of HESG as an institutional arrangement designed to overcome a collective action problem.
