In 2016, a hitherto unknown Book of hours was found at the Museum Betliar, Slovakia (part of the Slovak National Museum). After a basic research, the workshop of the manuscript´s illustrations could be identified. Their origin is settled in the highly productive atelier of Willem Vrelant, a Flemish illuminator of the third quarter of the 15th Century.
The texts and illustrations presented in this dossier are parts of an exhibition catalogue published 2019 by the Museum Betliar and the NGO Andoras from Betliar. In a "slideshow" it presents reproductions of a calendar as well as all folia with figurative miniatures of the codex. Beside that, the Ilona Andrassy Book of Hours contains hundreds of folia with floral decorations on margins.
The whole manuscript has been digitized at the Lab of the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava and will be published online.
