Spiritual Science

Now we are in a position to also unveil one of the most hidden ‘open secrets’ of Anthroposophy since the end of the last century. It is about the most unspoken, yet also the most important contemporary spiritual fact, mentioned above, which has the greatest significance for those who want to gain a true understanding of the development of Anthroposophy in the present age of Michael. Therefore, I would ask you to contemplate it seriously in your individual meditations and share it with one another, in the appropriate Stimmung and feeling, in your intimate school meetings. Also, kindly remember that it is an organic continuation of the previous lectures and that it can be understood as a whole only after we shall give our fifth lecture tomorrow...

"Our heart has changed; we no longer bear the same heart in our chest. Our physical heart has grown harder, and our etheric heart, more mobile. We must find access to our supersensible hearts". (Rudolf Steiner, Lecture to young people, 20.7. 1924, GA 217a)

On the luciferic side, powerful spiritual streams are working everywhere to create astral immortality by training people very effectively, where people learn how to exit rapidly their bodies and live consciously in the astral world, developing lucid astral imaginations, travel and projections. Like the aharimanic immortality discussed before, also this luciferic practice is using the released etheric body from the heart, connecting it with luciferic beings in the lower astral world, that fill the empty etheric body with their astral-desire forces and give you strongest astral imaginations and experiences outside of the body.

This new etheric body is not only a new life body, but it is also supported by an etherized, resurrected seed of a new physical body, who's archetypal ‘Phantom’ has been multiplying itself in us since the Mystery of Golgotha. It is nourished and brought to imaginative cognition by reproductive etheric breathing. It is a firstborn offspring of our joint human-cosmic creation, an independent etheric body that harbors future seed forces of a new universe.

The lowest region of the soul world, described in Theosophy as the region of burning lusts and desires, opens up before you.  You realize that while your attention was occupied with the emotional complexes created out of the feelings of pride and fear, shame, guilt and judgement— to name only a few—below them, in the unconscious depths of the soul, wilder instincts and passions were flaring up incessantly.

I discovered something that had far-reaching consequences for the entire development of the knowledge drama, namely, that the new anthroposophical Aristotelism could accomplish in the etheric body what the original Aristotelism accomplished in the physical body. In the etheric body it could merge with the imaginative Platonic forces, and help them to condense further, etherically speaking. What is more, this etheric concentration and condensation developed the forces of supersensible cognition beyond the Imaginative Soul. I discovered that in this way the forces of the Imaginative Soul, the spiritualized Consciousness Soul, were transformed.

This article is the first of two articles, in a greater series, that will look at evidence indicating a connection to the spiritual stream of Rosicrucianism. In our previous two articles we have addressed, in the first, the moral questions that have arisen regarding Harry Potter’s connection to “witchcraft and wizardry” and in the second, the path of initiation as it is presented in the stories. In these previous studies we have established a basis to begin to understand the spiritual sources from which J. K. Rowling has drawn in creating the Harry Potter series. In the present article we will seek to place Rosicrucianism in a proper context to historical Christianity (and to the evolution of consciousness in general) before we attempt to show the extent to which Rosicrucianism figures into the Potter series primarily through an examination of the similarities between it and The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz —one of the original manifestos of the Rosicrucians. To accomplish this we will be focusing mainly on similar outer characteristics such as story line, plot and setting while also providing some insights into their esoteric underpinnings. This is intended to provide a foundation for a subsequent article (PART IV, Harry Potter and the Rosicrucian Stream No. 2), in which we will attempt to show how the Rosicrucian spirit suffuses the books as well as the character of Harry Potter and his two closest companions Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, who together, as mentioned earlier in this series, might well represent the members of the tri-partite human soul: thinking, feeling and willing.

This article belongs to a series of studies of results from working with the Foundation Stone Mediation given by Rudolf Steiner at the Christmas Conference of the Anthroposophical Society in 1923-4. In a previous article we explored the idea that this meditative text reveals the being of Isis-Sophia.1 We sought to demonstrate that the Foundation Stone Meditation, like the Representative of Humanity sculpture created by Rudolf Steiner and Edith Maryon, is a sort of veil, as Steiner said, behind which stands Isis-Sophia, the mighty being sought by initiates of all ages.  To behold this cosmic being was the goal of those aspiring to the most lofty experience of initiation: knowledge of the human being’s connection to the cosmos, knowledge that the human being is truly a micro-cosmos. Or as Lao Tzu is said to have expressed it: “The universe is a man on a large scale.” Our current study will show that within the Foundation Stone stands concealed, not only Isis-Sophia, as we have demonstrated, but even more hidden, the Virgin Sophia, who is the microcosmic reflection of and the key to the experience of Isis-Sophia.

The Foundation Stone Meditation given by Rudolf Steiner is a marvelous structure of thought with tremendous significance that has been compared, justifiably, to the Lord’s Prayer, the Holy Grail and the Philosopher’s Stone. In these few pages I would like to introduce the idea that The Foundation Stone unveiled at the Christmas Conference of 1923-24 was and is a reappearance of the legendary Golden Triangle, the Mystic Hammer and the Lost Word that was given to Hiram, the Architect/Builder of the Temple of Solomon and that the Anthroposophical movement has, in the Foundation Stone, the ideal tools for building a modern Temple for Humanity.

Dear friends, approaching Easter this year we have an unprecedented opportunity to experience the seasonal spirit of resurrection and renewal as never before. Especially this year we have the possibility of discovering the secret of turning winter into spring for our souls, experiencing the resurrection, not as an abstraction, but as a palpable reality. The aim of this paper is to answer the questions: Why is this so? How can I make it happen?

A discussion of the holographic universe with reference to the energetics of its constituent sentient and non-sentient particles has been presented, making reference to the author's previously published works on consciousness, space-time dimensions, sentient vibration, karma, even soul survivability. It is elucidated that the entire universe is a 'holodeck' in which the programs of reality are holographically projected via the dimensional space-time server through the advent of light of consciousness. In this respect, we as conscious beings, represent sophisticated holographical bio-computers capable of receiving, decoding, and projecting the light software programs of reality according to our consciousness subjected to the frequential-light quotients lens of dimensional domains in which we have anchored our commensurate consciousness. It is further explicated that consciousness is an internal phenomenon that originates from WITHIN and becomes an observer to ALL THAT TRANSPIRE externally and outside the conscious observer. The way reality comes to manifestation is through pulsation of the particles of matter and antiparticles of antimatter that all spin back and forth about a central SOURCE that is the progenitor of all consciousness. In this respect, what generates the multitude of different probabilities of reality occurrence is the exact nature of energetic particulate spin, their spin velocity, direction of spin (clockwise or counterclockwise distinguishing matter from antimatter), and the specific orientation of their spin axis.

The next crucial years are the 2020s and 30s, in which the living foundation stone for the new etheric body of this community must be built, and we have the responsibility to be its best parents. We must be able to give it the healthiest and ordered anthroposophical form and substance. It must be created from the ground up, from the most elementary and humble beginnings, in which each participant is fully active. Naturally, the real builders of the etheric communal body of the Michaelic stream will only come from the ranks of those ‘poor in the spirit’, those striving to become free from the shackles of the dead forms of the past, who can enthusiastically and creatively experience themselves as complete beginners of a wholly new spiritual science, art, craft, and cultus.

Because common intellectual misrepresentations of spiritual science abound aplenty, it must be emphasized again, that the concept, representation and word, ‘organ’, taken from the physical body and used to designate spiritual organs of perception, is irredeemably misleading. In the astral and etheric bodies, we only have pure supersensible activities, events, streams, and vortexes of becomings. A spiritual organ of perception, like the one referred to here, that is formed between the eyes, means, therefore, an individualized spiritual activity of the birth, death and resurrection of cognition and knowledge. And this activity, that exists only as it is actualized and can be only actualized in active spiritual praxis, cannot be ‘remembered’ or ‘retained’ in consciousness in any passive way. It must be actualized in each living moment of spiritual research-again and again.

A discussion of soul longevity has been presented with reference to application of Free Will and its either proper or improper utilization leading to positive karma, continual consciousness expansion, and immortality, or in contrast, to negative Karma, culminating in reduction in consciousness expansibility and frequency of consciousness, and eventual fragmentation and annihilation of soul, respectively. The mechanical model for karma introduced by the author before has been revisited together with a discussion of sentient conscious vibration published earlier elsewhere. The concept of soul entropy introduced by the author earlier has been revisited, and it is reasserted that for attaining continued consciousness expansion, the rate of 'soul entropy' production must be non-negative. It is elucidated, herein, that ordinarily a sentient being has been endowed with the gift of 'open energy supply' by the SOURCE, yet excessive indulgence in negative karma can eventually lead to a split or stoppage of the energetic supply that will culminate in a 'reversal in polarity' in terms of energetic flow. Here, the conscious being is compelled to either turn on itself as " a snake consuming its tail " until nothing is left anymore, or to resort to pathetic act of energetic vampirism, feeding on the consciousness energies of others. It is explicated that in particular, in the case of the former, excessive negative karma culminates in a reduction in consciousness expansibility, which in turn, implies an increase in one's constitution. Thus, as a result of excessive utilization of negative karma, the resulting increase in the density will lead to fusion of one's particles and antiparticles, which result in severe compaction. As a result, the entity finally is subjected to fission and soul fragmentation. And, in the

Rudolf Steiner and the sculptor Edith Marion worked together to create a 9.5 meter (approx. 31 ft.) tall wooden sculpture of Christ positioned between Lucifer and Ahriman, which is known as The Representative of Humanity. It is an intriguing, monumental, world-historic sculpture that stands in the building called the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland, at the hub of the Anthroposophical Society, and has been the object of no little astonishment, contemplation and study since its completion  in 1922. To add to the intrigue created by this work of art, Rudolf Steiner said that a spiritual being could be perceived “behind” the sculptural group; he said that with spiritual vision one could see the being Isis/Sophia there. In this paper I will put forth the idea that behind the Foundation Stone Meditation, “sculpted” in words by Rudolf Steiner, also stands the being of Isis/Sophia.

Since my Christ experience, I looked up with outmost devotion and veneration to St Paul, the Saint Patron and (through Rudolf Steiner's supersensible stream of life) presently irreplaceable source of spiritual inspiration in all matters related to the modern Etheric Christ Experience. I therefore demonstrated, albeit in a strongly condensed manner, how I used this inspiration in my spiritual research, in the 2nd chapter of my basic book, The New Experience of the Supersensible, to which I gave the title: St Paul at the Gates of Damascus

One of the things I try to describe in the new edition of the New Experience of the Supersensible, in the central fifth chapter, entitled 'the knowledge drama of the Second Coming', is to show how the results of the spiritual research, presented in this book, come about through the meditative praxis based on the meditations given in the books Knowledge of the Higher Worlds, Occult Science, the general main exercise, and some of the individually given meditations from the first esoteric school at the beginning of the 20th century. After some 30 years, this seems to me an important part of the knowledge drama, that can be shared with the readers, to demonstrate, how these meditative exercises are utilized, and how they led to the results of the research presented in the book.

The third stage of the knowledge drama of the Second coming begins when we decide to return to the body, after completing the second stage, that took place in the higher worlds. This means, that we must decide to reincarnate consciously. But to return to the body in full spiritual consciousness, means that we are faced with formidable, indeed, fearful perspective. We realize that we experience consciously what each reincarnating soul in the present age experiences unconsciously before birth, and, in a weakened form, in returning to the body each morning. What is revealed is that the soul is faced with a difficult supersensible-moral decision, whether to incarnate again on earth or not. It is a test and ordeal, that increases in intensity from one decade to the next.

While on the earth and in the Anthroposophical Society after 1933 the greatest reversal of the Second Coming took place, in the etheric world, the true stream of Michael and the real being of Anthroposophy united fully with the new revelation of the etheric Christ. The most significant spiritual events that determine the goals of Anthroposophy in the twenty-first century took place in the etheric world in the 30s-40s of the last century. And this is our task in the coming years and decades: to bring down to the earth the etheric essence of these mighty, world changing events, and transform them into the very substance and form of the new Michaelic school and movement on the earth.

Dear friends, two years ago I brought to you by way of Chanticleer, A Week of Reflections for Easter: St. Paul’s Initiation/Conversion in Light of the Easter Thought. Last year I shared: An Easter Thought: How Do I Find the Christ?  This Easter season I would like to take you with me on a journey to the sacred land of Shambhala. There are two sides to the Easter we celebrate nowadays: the Christian side with its palm fronds, hot-cross buns, Easter Lilies, butterflies and lambs (signifying the lamb of God)-all expressing the idea of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection; and the pre-Christian or pagan side with its celebration of springtime, budding and blossoming, Easter eggs, bunny rabbits and baby chicks. The Christian symbols, which conceal unfathomable mysteries and are too often taken for granted with little comprehension, are nevertheless accessible enough for intellectual reflection. While the depth of meaning, which lies deeper than our appreciation of and pleasure derived from the lovely natural phenomena of Springtime, is less accessible for reflection. In other words, a deeper meaning is hidden in these pre-Christian symbols, which can help us to penetrate the deepest of mysteries contained in the manifestly Christian Easter message. So, let us seek to gather from these slight indications a sense of what is "at the bottom" of this matter for a deeper understanding of Easter this year.

To answer positively, with active, dedicated heart and will forces, the last words and prayer of Rudolf Steiner, ‘May Human Beings Hear this!’ each person has to struggle to grasp his and her connection to the mission of the being of Anthroposophia. In the following, we shall describe the struggle that comes about, with the temptations of Ahriman and Lucifer, if we seriously decide to take a spiritual initiative in connection with this being.

The first part of this paper will explore how we can come to valid perceptions to answer the question: Does matter precede evolution and consciousness or does consciousness precede matter and evolution? I will focus on the aspects of how science and theology have approached understanding ‘agency of God’ and ‘God’s intent for creation.’ The idea of cooperation demands that we the can find how God intends to restore and heal creation. The work of humans gives a forum for God’s agency. The intention within evolution aligns with the Australian Aboriginal concept of ‘dreaming’ (albeit that is a western term).
The second part of this paper focuses on the Christian tradition of developing spiritual senses and practices from a spiritual scientific point of view. This means we need to define the religious spiritual practices that transform the physical sense into organs of perception to experience spiritual phenomenon and thereby come to knowledge of God’s intentions and perceive divine activity within evolution. This method can stand as a non-material scientific process in its own right and create a dialogue with positivist scientific method.

When the physical body becomes transparent through the above described meditative exercises, we can acquire what Rudolf Steiner designated as ‘the new metabolic knowledge’, attained purely by means of conscious spiritual activity, and not by any manipulation of the physical body.

I believe that after we have worked on the earth for more than 40 years, the time is ripe to lift this veil, and describe, from our spiritual experience, the untold esoteric history of the Michaelic drama from the beginning of last century until now, and its potentials and possibilities for the near future. This story is the true spiritual history of the whole stream of Michael since the death of Rudolf Steiner in 1925, until today, and what is expected from us in the first part of this century.

Rudolf Steiner, who draws attention with his multi-faceted works, is known for his important works in the fields of medicine, education, art and agriculture, as well as esotericism and occultism in particular. In this article, it is explicated to the intellectual infrastructure, the effect of the anthroposophy founded by Steiner and deals with the Spiritual Science, which Steiner created in a unique way. Rudolf Steiner has established an eclectic system by dissolving different schools such as Goethe's doctrine of nature, Rosicrucianism, Kabbalah, Hinduism, Gnostic and Mystic Christianity in his system. The universality is dominant in Steiner's work. His inclusive ideas for all humanity suffered the reaction of the Nazis in his time. Steiner drew attention to the potential of discovering the senses of people by making a distinction between the sensory and the sensual world. The drive and power of discovering the spiritual world in humans has a significant share in his work. Steiner, who says he has seen and experienced the supernatural world personally, is intended to have more knowledge of other people about the supernatural world. The literature review was chosen as a method. Information gathered from different sources may provide a better understanding of Steiner's work.

A discussion of the mechanics of cosmos with direct reference to the first 12 dimensions of physicality pertinent to our Nebadon Universe, and in particular, to the particle-antiparticle mechanics of matter and antimatter has been presented. It is elucidated that everything in the physical universe manifests as a result of pulsation of particles of matter and antiparticles of antimatter and their relationship to one another. More specifically, everything is comprised of energy and energy manifests itself as either coherent, intelligible, God Particles of Consciousness (us), or as energetic particles of matter and antimatter within the universe. The author has explicated in the past that everything spins about a central SOURCE, the original progenitor of all consciousness and EVERYTHING ELSE THAT THERE IS, which gives rise to the illusion of time, space, and form (matter or antimatter). It is through the different pulsation (spin) rates of these particles of matter and antiparticles of antimatter as well as the variation in their spin axis (referred by the author as the 'Time Vector' or Axis) with respect to one another that the illusion of holographic space-time and form is created. In this respect, the spin about the SOURCE epitomizes time and its congealment represents space, also ultimately giving rise to the illusion of fabric of space-time (matter-antimatter). In this respect, strictly speaking, time is stationary (always the NOW) and does not move. Time exists as a

Middle Europe, as the centre of the 'I' development of humanity in our age, must experience most strongly the twilight of the gods and humanity, and the split, reversed human nature between Amfortas and Parsifal. And its redemption is only possible if human souls will be found in this century, that would actualize this healing in their souls and community, in real life.

The reason for the complete lack of interest of most people in the current new revelation of Michael and Christ (not to mention the active opposition...), can only be understood if we realize that true spiritual science leads to this revelation in a fully conscious way. Our dead earthly intellect, that we cherish so much, and our visionary fantasies and speculations, that we cherish even more, cannot lead us to this revelation. Only the brightest and exactest, liveliest consciousness, developed by means of the spiriutalization of thinking, feeling and will, opens the portal to this revelation.

Through decades long spiritual work, which started at the end of the 70' of last century, it was possible to use the instructions given in the Philosophy of Freedom and Knowledge of the Higher Worlds to build the new etheric body, and the emerging being of Spirit Self through the transformation of the astral body, following Rudolf Steiner's esoteric guidance.

Spiritual science discovers this universal truth, namely, that privatization is constitutional and instinctive in the modern age of the Consciousness Soul, because it is the very power that motivates and actualizes individuation. We privatize all our elementary perceptions, ideas, feelings and will impulses, and do this instinctively, long before we can reflect about it and realize that it is happening, in order to become strong and independent, egotistical personalities in the age of the Consciousness Soul. If humans would have taken spiritual science seriously, they should and could have become conscious of this fundamental reversing process, which belongs to the ABCs of spiritual science, but instead they do the same thing to spiritual science: privatize and appropriate it, and reverse it into the very forms of thought that Rudolf Steiner overcame.

This is a fundamental spiritual condition, that all honest and serious students of spiritual science must be aware of: I could only grasp what the teacher has spoken, to the extent that his teaching on the earth, has borne true fruit in my soul, and that this fruit now becomes an organ of spiritual comprehension. In truth, I can only see and comprehend anything in the spiritual world, in its true being, to the extent that I have first assimilated and spiritualized it thoroughly on the earth, through the study of what the teacher himself communicated from his experiences.

He thus planted the seed of His newly created death in life and life in death in the souls of His pupils: a conscious, life-preserving, life-giving death! Through His life in human death, and His death in human life, He gained the power to teach His disciples and impart to them, for the first time in human evolution, this secret: the secret of the 'bridge'.

The first major transformation of the Michaelic stream started at the beginning of the Michaelic age in 1879 and the new age of light in 1899, but its deeper meaning could only start to be revealed in the very last moment of Rudolf Steiner’s life, in 1924, in the Christmas Foundation Conference, the karma lectures and the new esoteric School of Michael. The second major transformation took place not on the earth but in the etheric world before and during the middle of the century, in the 12 years 1933-45 and the next 10 years during the new Michaelic conference,1945-55, in which the whole evolution of the Earth and humanity changed, and with them also the being of Anthroposophia; and the third major transformation occurred again on the earth at the end of the 20th. The fourth major transformation occurs right now, as we speak these words.

The given Christ event is described in chapter 4 of the New Experience of the Supersensible, "the Modern Christ Experience - The Meeting with the New Initiator". In this event, the Christ offers the human ‘I’ a seed essence, or ‘copy’ of His Self, and plants it as a seed of future transformation in spirit, soul and body, and at the same time, also demonstrates its future development. Following this demonstration, chapter 5 offers an individualized recapitulation of this event, by means of the knowledge drama of the Second Coming

This eternal fire of the Christ spirit, kindled in our etheric hearts in Israel, could receive the present wound of humanity in Germany, because we could experience the redemptive Spiritual Event of the Twentieth Century; it then became young again and found the future fountain of new life in Scandinavia; and now it is ready to die in the death forces of the West. Then the spiritual planetary stream of Christ’s Will, flowing from East to West, North and South, will be able to unite through us with the threefold etheric heartbeat of Michael, humanity and the earth.

The first part of the bridge of spiritual memory and continuation of consciousness is constructed in the etheric body, from head to heart. It is made from the forces of spiritualized thinking and perception, created in the Michaelic yoga. When it is completed, we turn to the construction of the second part of the bridge, in the astral body, made from the spiritualization of the soul forces. Below we describe some of the discoveries that man makes in this process, and how the beginning of the meditative practice is formed, that is used for this purpose.

When I was asked to become reader of the 1st class, I accepted this because the request originated from people in my community. It took me some years of working as reader to fully understand the real anthroposophical situation at the end of last century. I realised that in regard to our real stage of human-social maturity and the real state of the development of our spiritual faculties, we haven't yet begun to actualise the most elementary beginnings of the anthroposophical spiritual path described by Rudolf Steiner in his book, Knowledge of the Higher Worlds.

In this way, our new life- and light-breathing also becomes an individualized co-productive activity with the forces of the etheric Christ on the earth. In each moment, the Christ embodies, in the earth and in human hearts, the highest spiritual sun forces, the source of all cosmic love, life and light. Since the Mystery of Golgotha, His forces enhance and etherize themselves through all creative human deeds of love, beauty and truth.

My adult spiritual life began in a supersensible experience of the etheric Christ. I immediately started to search for answers and solutions to the innumerable questions and riddles that this experience brought about. This search led me directly to anthroposophy. I first studied Rudolf Steiner's researches concerning the Christ impulse. Next, I moved on to general anthroposophy, and then a year later, I read Rudolf's own starting point for spiritual science The Philosophy of Freedom. This happened precisely 40 years ago, in 1976. Alongside a continual and intensive study of anthroposophy, I began to study with the greatest enthusiasm everything he ever wrote and said about cognition, philosophy, Goetheanism, natural science and their transformation into spiritual science.
