Stereotypy funkcjonujące wokół wizerunku kobiety, nie tylko że nie zniknęły, ale pojawiają się nowe. Kobiety oceniane są zwłaszcza przez pryzmat swojego wyglądu i tego co na siebie zakładają. Przy czym medium i kompetencje medialne nie mają znaczenia w wyrażaniu negatywnych ocen. Raport z badania

Antologia Struktura teorii spiskowych wypełnia zauważalną lukę w rodzimej literaturze przedmiotu. Daje ona mianowicie szansę polskiemu czytelnikowi zapoznania się z oryginalnymi, nierzadko już klasycznymi, jak też najnowszymi, a przede wszystkim poznawczo znakomitymi tekstami zachodnich badaczy teorii spiskowych. Książka ta może wnieść ożywczy powiew do polskiego dyskursu o teoriach spiskowych, który niestety, zwłaszcza w tzw. przestrzeni medialnej, nie wykracza poza wygłaszanie na ich temat bezkrytycznych, poznawczo bezwartościowych banałów. Tom zawiera polskie przekłady tekstów takich autorów jak Richard Hofstadter (Styl parnoiczny w polityce amerykańskiej [Political Style in American Politics]), Serge Moscovici (Mentalność spiskowa [Conspiracy Mentality]), czy Peter Knight (Kultura konspiracji [Conspiracy Culture])

W artykule zaproponowano definicję stereotypu z punktu widzenie językoznawstwa. Stereotyp zdefiniowano z uwzględnieniem zjawisk pokrewnych: językowego obrazu świata, uprzedzeń, pojęć / konceptów i prototypów. W zgodzie z zaproponowaną definicją stereotypu zakreślono obszar badawczy, w którym możemy mieć do czynienia ze zjawiskami stereotypizacji.

Sociálna identita je dôležitou súčasťou sebadefinovania a nevyhnutnosťou pre utváranie vlastnej osobnej identity. V príspevku sa venujeme problematike vymedzenia sociálnej identity vo vzťahu k identite osobnej. Popisujeme kategorizáciu, identifikáciu a komparáciu
sociálnych skupín v nadväznosti na súvisiacu stereotypizáciu, predsudky a diskrimináciu.

Social identity is an important aspect of self-definition and it is necessary for development of one´s personal identity. This article tackles the issue of social and personal identities and their
interrelation. Furthermore, we define categorisation, identification and comparison of social groups in connection with stereotypization, prejudice and discrimination.

Praca skupia się na polskiej edycji show 'Rolnik szuka żony' (trzy pierwsze edycje) oraz jaki wizerunek wsi i jej mieszkańców prezentuje program. Autorka zastanawia się nad ogromną popularnością programu w kontekście znaczenia wsi dla kultury polskiej.

W celu określenia stopnia stałości vs zmienności tradycji cieszyńskiej wybrano zestaw pojęć tworzących obraz otaczającego świata, w zakresie stosunków regionalnych i etnicznych. Obraz świata przyjęto jako systemowe ujęcie tradycji kulturowej. O wyborze tego fragmentu obrazu świata zadecydowało kilka czynników. Na Śląsku Cieszyńskim mamy do czynienia z terenem pogranicza etnosów, grup regionalnych, a obecnie również tworów administracyjnych i politycznych (państw). W przełożeniu na jednostki tradycji mówić możemy o pograniczu różnych kultur.
W pracy podjęto się zbadania obrazu świata młodzieży czternasto-piętnastoletniej. Jest to bowiem moment w życiu młodych ludzi, kiedy są jeszcze mocno związani z rodziną i rodzicami, a więc i rodzinną miejscowością Jednocześnie w tym wieku dochodzi już do świadomej analizy informacji kulturowej przychodzącej z zewnątrz. Informacja ta jednak nie jest jedyną – nosiciel systemu wartości, podmiot kultury, tkwiąc mocno w rodzinie i we własnym, „naturalnym” środowisku, ma możliwość konfrontacji (na bieżąco) wartości zewnętrznych z wewnątrzkulturowymi. Jest to więc okres w życiu młodzieży, w którym można zdiagnozować ich „spadek kulturowy".

Las guías turísticas están pensadas para atraer la atención del viajero hacia un destino determinado y proporcionarle información sobre todo en las etapas de un viaje ya emprendido (on trip). Esta información, de índole tanto descriptiva como prescriptiva o práctica, pero también valorativa, es presentada mediante recursos propios de la retórica aristotélica gracias a una fraseología híbrida, objetiva y subjetiva, que las caracteriza como género estereotipado no solo en su estructura y expresión lingüística, sino también en su contenido. Esta estereotipia se propaga, además, a través de la traducción, la cual refuerza su carácter de género textual prefijado. Lo podremos comprobar en el estudio de caso de dos guías sobre Japón, DK-Guías visuales y Guía azul, analizadas desde el punto de vista del tratamiento de la información que aportan, los sesgos culturales que contienen y su traducción. Comprobaremos que la primera, conforme a las guías de viajes habituales, realza el lado positivo de cada lugar. La segunda, en cambio, encaja más con la idea de "libro de viajes" del siglo XIX, destacando las diferencias y perpetuando estereotipos y prejuicios.

Artykuł przedstawia pojęcie „sekta religijna” na konfesyjnej mapie mentalnej na pograniczu polsko-czeskim, na Śląsku Cieszyńskim. Jest to region wielowyznaniowy, zamieszkiwany przez wyznawców kilkunastu Kościołów. Współcześnie przywoływany jest jako teren koegzystencji wielu wyznań, głównie jednak dwu nurtów chrześcijańskich, Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego i Ewangelicko-Augsburskiego. Celem analizy materiałów zarówno współczesnych, jak i starszych jest określenie, jakie miejsce zajmują w tym systemie te kierunki, które uważane są za ruchy sekciarskie, i jak pojęcie to było i jest definiowane w zależności od wyznawanej konfesji.
The paper presents the notion of religious sects on the confessional mental map on the Polish-Czech border, in the Cieszyn Silesia. It is a multi-denominational region inhabited by the followers of several religions. Nowadays, it is referred to as the area of coexistence of many religions, mainly, however, two Christian currents, the Roman Catholic Church and the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession. The aim of the analysis of both contemporary and older materials is to determine what place the sectarian movements take in this system, and how this concept was and is defined depending on both the main confessions.

Though some research exists concerning general behavior and activity patterns of Walruses in zoos or aquariums, less is known about how these patterns change in response to various environmental and temporal contexts. This study presents two studies assessing behavioral changes in relation to feeding period, object enrichment (OE), and season in a social group of four Pacific Walruses at the New York Aquarium. Study 1 examined behavior in relation to feeding context (nonfeed, prefeed, postfeed); data were collected over a three-week period, resulting in 47 observation sessions for each feeding context. Study 2 examined behavior in relation to OE and season; data were collected in two phases resulting in 12 enrichment and 9 no-enrichment (NE) observation sessions (Phase 1), and 21 enrichment and 18 NE observation sessions (Phase 2). The way Poles tend to look at other nations, including Poland's closest neighbours, has for some time attracted Polish social scientists' attention. And it appears that Germany evokes a particular intensity and diversity of emotions among Poles. Within the scope of neighbourhood one sometimes brings out the specific platform of borderlands, i.e. the areas that offer a possibility to look at these characteristics from the point of view of maximum spatial closeness between the communities living next to each other. A particular type of relations on this level is constituted by the inhabitants of towns/cities divided by the state border, which is the case in Gubin and Guben – two places separated by the border river (Polish: Nysa Łużycka; German: Neisse). And it is these circumstances, developed below, that account for the fact that the aim of the article is to characterise and analyse the stereotypes by means of which the residents of Gubin perceive their German neighbours from across the river. The empirical base is constituted here by the research conducted in Gubin in 2012. Its results will be written into theoretical conceptions that tend to be employed when describing social relations in borderlands, and into the peculiar character of these twin towns, as well as juxtaposed with the works by other authors who have also dealt with this issue.

We studied stereotypical ear covering in a child with autism. Results of a descriptive analysis were inconclusive but revealed a correlation between ear covering and another child's screaming. An analogue functional analysis showed that ear covering was emitted only when the screaming was present.

Normalization of Polish-German neighbourly relations includes among others a change in the memory of Poles and Germans about their common past. One of the instruments of this change is art. That
is why the article makes empirical reference to the exhibition ‘‘Side by Side. Poland-Germany. 1000 Years of History in Art.’’ In connection with this exhibition the question is considered who and how (by what means of probing memory), by the implication of what content (of the exhibition) rebuilds (or perhaps constructs) the memory of Polish-German neighbourly relations? In expounding those crucial issues emphasis is placed on their vague dimensions – new opportunities offered by the museum exhibition, difficulties in an unambiguous reception of the message it carries, difficulties in identifying the
authors of the message and the creators of this event and – what seems to be especially important – the role of state authorities in this process.

Polish-Slovak neighbourhood. Introduction
The article aims at introducing the issues brought up by the contributors to the volume, and that is why it features short descriptions of the articles included in it. At the same time, we reflect upon Poles’ lack of knowledge or even stereotypes on their neighbours Slovaks who for some years have tended to be included by Poles among their most preferable nations. We also seek to outline the reasons why emotional inclinations are here accompanied by epistemological ignorance. Besides, as usual, in this introductory article we try to find components that would fill up the category of „neighbourhood” as regards Polish-Slovak coexistence.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest stworzenie obrazu ateisty na podstawie źródeł historycznych i współczesnych. Historia pojęcia ateisty została opisana na podstawie prasy regionalnej, współczesny obraz – na podstawie wyników ankiet i dyskusji na tematy religijne na regionalnych stronach internetowych. Analiza wykazała, że pojęcie ateisty jest traktowane jako pojęcie równorzędne z określeniami członków różnych Kościołów. W wyniku badań przedstawiono nie tylko wizerunek ateisty, lecz także jego miejsce w systemie postrzegania różnic wyznaniowych.
The aim of this article is to create an image of the atheist based on historical and contemporary sources. The history of the concept of the atheist is described on the basis of the regional press, the contemporary picture of the concept – on the basis of the results of a questionnaire and discussions on religious topics on regional websites. The analysis showed that the concept of the atheist is treated as a term equivalent to the terms of members of different churches. The research shows not only the image of the atheist, but also its place in the system of perception of religious differences.

Autism is a severe neurodevelopmental disorder, diagnosed on the basis of core behavioral symptoms. Although the mechanistic basis for the disorder is not yet known, genetic analyses have suggested a role for abnormal excitatory/inhibitory signaling systems in brain, including dysregulation of glutamatergic neurotransmission. In mice, the constitutive knockdown of NMDA receptors leads to social deficits, repetitive behavior, and self-injurious responses that reflect aspects of the autism clinical profile. However, social phenotypes differ with age: mice with reduced NMDA-receptor function exhibit hypersociability in adolescence, but markedly deficient sociability in adulthood.
