Through the vehicle of Nicolas Sarkozy’s so-called “Dakar Address,” we will analyze the West’s persisting lack of insight into the need for Western decolonization. We will attempt to identify the dangers that come from this refusal, such as the continued adherence to colonial patterns, the enduring self-understanding as being superior compared to Africa, and the persisting unwillingness to accept colonial guilt. Decolonization must be understood as a two-fold business. Decolonization means overcoming endured and perpetrated violence. It is not only important that the colonially oppressed regain strength, it is equally important that the perpetrators of colonial violence understand their excess of violence and work on rendering its return impossible. We explain how Western thinking remains dangerous and untrustworthy if it rejects its own decolonization. Finally, we will draw attention to a fundamental pattern of Western thought that clashes with the fundamental values of the West: contempt. In a final step, we suggest how this contempt can be overcome through desuperiorization and the establishment of elative ethics.

The paper titled “Men in a Patriarchal Society and Issues” is a study about the problems facing by men, being in a country, which have male dominance. This is a great drawback of many developing as well as developed countries. In a patriarchal society not only women are suffering but also men do suffer greater than that of women. In such a society men is very much ashamed to raise their issues and problems, they feel themselves superior therefore they feel inferior when they open up their problem or even to cry when they become emotionally down. Patriarchal mindset never mind or care about the issue of men, because of their superiority mindset. Being a male dominant culture they never give importance to male safety and fills their psyche with confidence that “men can’t be abused”. Due to this concept men hides most of the violence against them even sexual abuse or rape, and there is no law in most of the country, even in our country India to support men and their issues. This result in mental problem and short tempered nature in men and this also leads to increase in substance use among men’s. This clears the path of some people who promote sexual abuse and they use boys mostly teenagers as a sexual tool. Thus boys have to face forcible kissing, forcible sex, exposure to pornographic content, obscene photography, may be by their relatives or friend. This kind of friendship or life which lead him to a criminal or a violent men who suppress women and this attitude may destroy his life. The superior kind of attitude in men never accept women, their thoughts, values and never respect them, they tries to expose their power over women. They also get annoyed when they hear the word feminism or women oriented programs etc. They never likes to give opportunities for women and they consider and rise up the idea of ideal wife and that may ends up with family issues. The men superiority culture leads to greater gender inequality or anti-feministic society and they never understand continuing in a patriarchal society effect themselves than women in such a society

The recent study of recognition in international relations allows one to challenge the dominant model of “rational” actors seeking to maximize their material interests (safety and profit). However, these new studies concentrate on “recognition of equality,” that is to say, collective actors’ desire to be recognized by others as equals. These approaches thus put aside “recognition of superiority,” that is to say the will to be recognized as superior to others. While this second type of superiority appears problematic from a normative standpoint, it is not to be expected that it will disappear from the horizon of international affairs. The paper will first analyze the contribution made by studies of recognition in the international relations literature and the manner in which this new orientation has focused principally on “recognition of equality.” Using empirical and anthropological observations, it will then suggest approaches to studying “recognition of superiority.”

In this article the argument is that there are rites, or parts of rites, that can be understood by all concerned without recourse to symbolical interpretation. This position is illustrated with the help of examples from different cultures and religions that impose a social hierarchy: typically there is one person or party that is superior, another one that is inferior. The initiator of such rites can be the superior or the inferior person/party. A discussion of these illustrations gives rise to further reflections, notably about the role of violence in ritual.
