Vedic Astronomy

Rajasuya is famous Yajnya in Vedic Sacrifice System , done by Emperors. This sacrifice is done by Chakravartin Kings i.e. Emperors only. Here we will review ancient mentions of this sacrifice in Vedic & Puranic Sanskrit texts and analyse its given negative impacts on the world .

This is a word-for-word translation of the Rig Veda recension of the Vedanga Jyotisha of Lagadha with detailed grammar notes.

In the future I plan on researching and possibly translating the texts that document the particular rituals at the given times calculated in this text.

Erratum: There is an error on a table on page 16. The column header labeled "Solar Months Based on the Full Moon in the Nakshatra During the 30 Degree Month" should be "New Moon Lunar Months-Name Based on the Full Moon in the Nakshatra During the Month." From astronomical works in Sanskrit , location of Mayasura will be traced who is claimed to be in Kritayuga in famous Surya Siddhant . And from available research on Chitpavan Brahmins , connection of Chitpavans to Greek Egyptian settlement in Alexandria is further discussed

The cult of the goddess with the lion was connected to certain conceptions about the cosmos as expressed through the orientation of the temple and the nature of the worship. Goddess Nanā was the presiding deity in temples and cities across Mesopotamia, Iran, and Central Asia from third millennium BCE onwards, and she was also the main goddess of the Kushan emperors in Bactria and Northwest India. Her cult, in which she takes many forms, is believed to have emerged in Mesopotamia and traveled eastward from there. In this article we provide reference from the Ṛgveda mentioning her name and present the Devīsūkta hymn of the Ṛgveda that includes qualities like that of the Mesopotamian Nanā, and we present evidence of the westward movement from India of the worship of the goddess both prior to the Kushans and thereafter, and this indubitable westward movement complicates the story of her origins. We also consider the astral aspect of the worship of Durgā, which is the union of the zodiac Leo sign with Virgo, and present evidence from the Ṛgveda that supports this conception; this evidence is consistent with the statement in Ṛgveda 1.164 that divides the ecliptic into twelve parts.

Knowledge of Vedic time reckoning was preserved in the Ṛk- and Yajurveda recensions of the Jyotiṣavedāṅga. Most of the verses of the two treatises convey the same meaning and provide a lecture on the measurement of time and its division. Some basic mathematical operations are also applied in order to calculate specific data important for the performance of Vedic ritual. This paper discusses some of the stanzas
and examines the terminology applied for the sake of time reckoning.

बु द्धः संस्कृतम् प्रतिरुद्धवान् आसीत् इति प्रवादः श्रूयते बहुत्र । केचन तु दृढतया मन्यन्ते यत् बुद्धः संस्कृतेन ग्रन्थरचनाम् उपदेशादिकं च न इच्छति स्म इति । किम् अत्र सत्यता अस्ति? यदि स्यात् तर्हि सा कियता प्रमाणेन इत्येतत् अवगन्तव्यम् अस्माभिः । अतः बौद्धं संस्कृतभाषा इत्यनयोः सम्बन्धस्य विषये किञ्चिदिव लिखामि । अस्मिन् लेखे का नाम पाळीभाषा, बौद्धसंस्कृतग्रन्थाः के, संस्कृतं किम् अवरुद्धम् आसीत् बुद्धेन इत्येते अंशाः व्याख्यायन्ते ।

It is commonly heard that Buddha was against Sanskrit language. Some think that he blocked his followers from composing Sanskrit works. Is this true? If so, to what extent? This article reviews the context of this question by explaining what is Pali language, what are the Bauddha Sanskrit granthas, etc.

In same timespan , astronomer mathematician person likely to be astrophysicist & aeronautical engineer as both space & aircraft design & astronomy are closely related . So Lalla quoted in Vaimanika Shastra must be the same author of Shishya-Dhi-Vriddhi Tantra , treatise on astronomy .

What urged the ancients to undertake almost superhuman efforts to build the pyramids? Why was the earliest Egyptian so-called step-pyramid of King Djoser built as a 6-staged 4-sided structure having a rectangular base on an east-west axis? And why the king Netjerykhet came to be called Djoser or Zoser? What was the real meaning and significance of the building of pyramids? There is no answer to be found in the records of the Egyptian civilization itself. On a diametrically opposite side of the globe in Mesoamerica, there is an analogous Maya step-pyramid known as Temple of Kukulkan in Chichen Itza, along with many similar structures throughout the region, where the ancient Maya performed their infamous heart-sacrifice. The ancient Maya people are generally treated as a civilization isolate from the rest of the ancient world. Were they come from another planet? Or were they aliens from outer space? What is the real meaning of the ethnic name Maya? What actually represent the four-sided step-pyramid structures found throughout the Mesoamerican region? What authentically signified socially and cosmically the formidable Maya heart-sacrifice ritual? There is no clue for deciphering these mysteries from the sources of the Maya civilization itself. Modern science too, except some silly futile conjectures, has not been able to give any serious hint at the answering of these questions. There exists, however, a trustworthy collective record of the bygone ages, which has preserved all the answers. It is neither the Sumerian collection of primitive cunei-form tablets, nor the Egyptian collection of hieroglyphic papyri, how much less those mostly plagiarized Biblical myths, but the most reliable and absolutely infallible ancient collection of orally transmitted records of the Aryan race called the Veda "Science, Scientia, Knowledge".

Scopo del presente lavoro è riportare una sintesi delle discussioni intorno alla natura metafisica del simbolo dei cicli cosmici, avvenute nell’ottobre del 2020, tra Kenan Digrazia, dottore in fisica ed epistemologia all’Università degli studi di Catania, anche traduttore dal sanscrito ed esperto di simbologia indiana, ed il maestro di Yoga Marco Sebastiani, già traduttore degli Yoga Sūtra di Patañjali (Porto Seguro Editore, 2020), laureato in antropologia religiosa alla Sapienza di Roma e caporedattore di Yoga Magazine Italia. Il dialogo, “trasferito” in forma di piccolo saggio, si svolge a più livelli, su un piano filosofico, teologico ed epistemologico, con il contributo dell’esposizione comparata dei modelli di cosmologia antica e moderna.
