She is currently at work on her memoir, He's Not Broken: A Mother's Journey to Acceptance, about the challenges of raising a son diagnosed with Tourette's Syndrome and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.     Depression

    When it arrived she covered it with a mask. 

    At least she looked good in black.

    I’m Ok, So You’re Ok

    I’m ok is a 

    white flag 

    being raised.

    I’m ok is a  

    safety cone 

    redirecting traffic.

    I’m ok is a  

    hope whose clipped 

    wings cannot fly.

    I’m ok is a  

    question rephrased 

    so you’ll feel better.

    One Act Player

    I’m Broadway bound 

    my cast of voices merely background players. 

    Center stage, 

    make-up applied with rehearsed precision, 

    I transform from girl with frown 

    to girl with stuck smile.  

    After all, that’s what you paid to see — 

    not sad girl, or tired girl, 

    or girl with a mental
