About this ebook
About the Book
Experience a journey of poetic euphoria and enjoy as you venture through Into the Divine, a collection of poetry wherein readers encounter a series of poems that begins with mental torture and develops into a memorable spiritual journey.
Reflecting an efflorescence of a spiritual experience, this highly relatable tale of finding faith through hardship touches the core of those who have experienced suicidal thoughts and grown out of them, and reaches out those who are still struggling to find their way.
About the Author
Leah Jessalyn is a poet who has been working on her collection Into the Divine since age 15. Using a journal and words as a form of catharsis, she found an outlet for her struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts, teenage pregnancy, a mother suffering from addiction, and the loss of her grandmother.
But much like her poetry collection itself, Jessalyn’s life has been a transformation from hardship to faith, and at age 20, the focus of her poetry shifted to reflect new beginnings, self-care, and meditation.
She hopes that her readers are able to relate and release, finding hope when times seem hopeless.

Into The Divine - Leah Jessalyn
Mom
You loved and cared for me;
You even treasured me.
I was your angel;
You actually loved me.
But all your dreams have fallen and broken;
Now you’re left with nothing.
I watched you scream from pain and agony;
Now we have lost everything.
You wanted love, but it fell apart;
Now you’re left alone in the dark.
A pool full of tears and a broken heart,
You realize you’ve gone too far.
All our family does is cry from all your shameful lies;
You look for love in all these guys.
A young girl’s left alone without a mother to guide her and show her what life is and how to live.
Sadly, I don’t even know how to forgive.
It’s so hard to remember the laughs and smiles.
All the families that fell apart from drug addiction; that breaks our hearts.
We all know your love is gone;
We have prayed for far too long.
I’m tired of crying!
I’m tired of waiting
When life’s clearly not changing!
I want my mom, but now she’s gone.
Forever done with life and love,
Maybe good will come.
Guardian Angel
An ideal image of an angel is a beaming light of a perfect figure
Lifted by two beautiful wings of wisdom
Sent down to guide us through the ways of life.
My angel wasn’t really considered an angel by others
But was always there to protect me.
A few lessons I learned that my angel had taught me
Was love everything for what it is before it’s gone,
Because once it’s gone you won’t get it back.
Embrace every moment because life is always changing.
Be happy with what you have and what you are,
Because all of that is a gift that life gives us.
One thing I learned about life
Was hold on to every thought; every memory,
Because within moments that pass so suddenly,
Our lives could end.
While our loved ones have tears falling on a rainy day,
With a guardian angel to give us strength.
My Best Friend
My best friend was not a friend.
She stood by me hand and hand.
