A Note from
the Author
To the best of my knowledge, there have been only rare occasions, where the humanity of previous generations of people, blessed with dark or dusty hues, have had their experiences channelled into literature.
Channelling a human experience on a level where every person with a compassion, can understand the lived experience of human genius, greatness, hope, pain, and perseverance.
This series of literary works has been created for those whose voices have not been heard were forced to be silent.
My poems are designed to take the reader on a journey that transcends the need to hide from tough and uncomfortable truths. In this place, we can finally share once hidden perspectives and move into a place of grieving, acceptance and then healing.

Forcefully Taken
Forcefully taken upon a bed of lies.
Like a diamond under pressure
Pressurized under immense weight.
The weight of oppression, its jealousy and lust.
My body convulses.
Ricocheting with every thrust.
Your breath is putrid.
The stench of your sweat is ripe.
Clothes are discarded like empty wrappers.
Like a canvas.
My skin is tattooed with marks on your whip.
Your laugh… echoes.
Under siege, treasures were plundered.
Shame submits to an uncapped greed.
The bloom of hatred’s seed.
Tears fell, teeth gritted.
I closed my eyes.
Time stops.
