Activity Observed: Basketball passing and Shooting

Grade/Age Level: 4th

performing.

1 Passing relay

2 Shooting Practice

Higher Skilled

Lower Skilled

Yellow relay- group paid

attention-paid attention, moved the
ball quickly, rarely dropped
passes, supported and cheered
each other. The majority of their
relay used the proper cues for all
three basketball skills.

Red group: students misbehaving.

Slamming ball. Dropping passes.
Slowest in competitions due to
misbehavior
Blue group: showed good effort
but some low hand eye
coordination caused students to
drop the ball.
Lower Skilled Students: Clarissa,
Jenifer, Miguel, Andrea

Higher skilled students: Chris,

Blue group(Trinidad, Leo jasmine,
Chris)
Scored often or was able to hit the
rim which came close to scoring.
Used the correct cues. Some
students showed correct cues but
lacked power or accuracy.

3 Dribble to Shot
Practice

Higher Skilled Student: Trinidad

and the rest of the blue group.
As a group efficiently moved
through activities achieving a great
deal of reps. Trinidad had perfect
form with her head up dribbling,
leas jasmine and Chris were
successful in scoring or having the
ball come close to scoring.

Teacher Casey Fleming Time spent @ site 30 minutes

Observer Casey Fleming / April 15th 2015

Students could not perform all the

cues correctly. Jenifer would
bring the ball behind her head,
while Andrea struggle to
accurately shoot the ball. Clarissa
struggled with power and getting
the ball up to the rim.
Lower Skilled Students: Yellow
group, Christian, Miguel.
Yellow group lacked organization
and had to be constantly reminded
of appropriate behavior of how the
acivities will work. Yellow group
also struggled to keep their head
up, and would not shoot from their
chest. Christian and Miguel would
shoot while they were still moving
