III.Goals and Student Learning Outcomes:
GOAL: Students will understand what it takes to write a complete and professional resume
and therefore produce such.
STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES: Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to
create a professional resume. Students will be able speak about their experience in regards to
the items listed on their resume.
Goal 1: Students will produce a comprehensive and professional resume.
Student Learning Outcome 1: Students will be able to explain their experiences in detail.
Student Learning Outcome 2: Students will know the strengths that they possess.

IV.

Learning Environment(s):
Students will be working with the IPads to utilize the Easy Resume Builder
Application. Students will be working in a direct instruction setting blended with
the use of technology.

VI.

Diversity / Differentiation:
Student population will continue to consist of all senior class members. Students
with IEPs will have support from their resource staff.

VII.

Technology Inclusion:
Students will utilize their IPads with the Easy Resume Builder Application,
students will also have access to laptop computers in order to create their resumes
in Google Docs for review by the instructor.

VIII. Prior Knowledge: Students will have compiled a list of their work and volunteer
experiences in order to complete their resumes.
Lesson Placement in the Unit: This is lesson 5 of 10.
IX.

Procedures:
1. Lesson Introduction / Anticipatory Set:
The instructor should issue each student an IPad with access to their Notability
Application and the Easy Resume Builder Application. Instructor should give a brief
overview tutorial of how to use the Easy Resume Builder application by projecting
from the teacher IPad to the Apple TV for the class to view.
2. Direct Instruction:
The instructor will then facilitate student procedures on building their personal resume.
The educator should be monitoring student work and making any necessary
suggestions. The instructor should also ensure that each student is working in Google
Docs while building their resume and that the Google Doc is shared with the instructor.
3. Student Interaction with lesson content / Guided Practice:
Students will be compiling all of their work and volunteer experiences into their

personal resume utilizing the Notability and Easy Resume Builder Applications on the
IPad. The information will then be exported to Google Docs as a part of their
rough/final drafts of their resumes to be shared with the instructor for review.
4. Independent Practice:
Students should only be working independently on this portion of the senior project.
They should not be working in groups or conversing with one another. The instructor
and other support staff should be the only people in the room that they are talking to.
5. Review / Closure:
The instructor should make sure that everyone has completed the basic layouts of their
resumes and that the students have a platform on which to finish their work if they
have not done so during the allotted instructional time. Students who have not finished
their resumes in class must do so as homework. Students who also need to continue to
make revisions to their career essays must also do so as homework.
6. Presentations:
The students must present their basic layouts/completed resumes to the instructor via
Google Docs so that appropriate revisions and comments may be addressed.
X.

Evaluation/Assessment:
While there is no formal rubric for the resume, the students must complete one with proper
format (of their choosing) and it must be free of spelling and/or grammatical errors.
