ADVICE ON THE USE OF MICHELIN EARTHMOVER TYRES
IMPORTANCE OF THE TYRE
TYRES ARE THE ONLY CONTACT BETWEEN THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. IT IS THEREFORE VITAL TO HAVE THE CORRECT TYRE AND TO KEEP IT IN GOOD CONDITION.
HANDLING
Poor handling of an untted tyre can cause it to be irreparably damaged. In order to eliminate the risk of bead damage and the problems which could result, we strongly advise that: 1 - The tyre is not lifted directly on the bead with a crane hook. 2 - Flat straps be used (not steel slings or chains). 3 - The tyre be lifted under the tread and not on the beads when a fork lift truck is used. 4 - For all tubeless tyres supplied with bead protectors, the protector should be left in place until the tyre is about to be tted. (keep the protectors; they can be retted when the tyre is temporarily removed for repair or retreading).
STORAGE
In order to avoid premature ageing and damage to tyres, they store them in a cool dry place indoors and away from direct sunlight. If this cannot be done, the tyres must be protected from: 1 - Ozone sources (sun, arc-welders, mercury vapour light bulbs, etc). 2 - Ultra-violet rays. 3 - The weather - Tyres should be stored vertically on the roll, one against the other (avoid stacking). - Tubes, aps and sealing rings may be stocked in their original packing, or unwrapped, on clear racks, shelves or in containers, providing that the surfaces in contact with the rubber are smooth to avoid tears, cuts or perforations and free from chemicals which damage rubber.
