    ABOUT THE WORKSHOP


    Particle Swarm optimization and its variants is to enrich the participants on the basic concepts of PSO and its modified forms, which aids in achieving better solutions for research problems under consideration. The Algorithm of PSO and its Variants have been applied to find solutions for several science and engineering problems. This Workshop is to enable the participants gain a complete knowledge on the implementation of these concepts and as well the working flow in MATLAB.

    SCOPE OF THE WORKSHOP


    This workshop has emphasis to provide a platform for interaction and to discuss the recent advances, new paradigms, technological trends and challenges in the field of Swarm Intelligence Algorithms, more specific to PSO Algorithm and its Variants. Also this workshop will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas on the topics of importance along with thought provoking technical sessions.

    ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT


    University Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering established in the year 2007, with its dedicated body of well qualified faculty, technical staff and students is a multi-disciplinary centre of excellence in the specialization of Electrical Drives and Embedded Control, Power Electronics and Drives, Control and Instrumentation, Power Systems Engineering and Core Electrical Engineering through education ,consultancy and research. The Department offers 4 Full-Time and Part Time M.E Programmes and a B.E Part Time Programme. The Department has well established laboratories, which includes power electronics and drives laboratory, measurement and instrumentation laboratory, control system laboratory, modeling and simulation and process control laboratory. The department actively involves in various research areas which includes soft computing, optimization approaches, power systems, intellectual property rights, control systems, image processing and power quality.
