The key takeaways from this procedure are the surface preparation requirements and different painting systems specified for product piping, fuel tanks, flood light towers, and other surfaces.

The purpose of this procedure is to specify the minimum requirements for painting of above ground piping, structural elements, fuel tanks, and light poles for the Mundra-Kandla Pipeline Project.

The surface preparation requirements before painting include blast cleaning the surface using sand blasting and ensuring it is free from oil, grease and other scales. The sand blasted surface must conform to SA 2 1/2 Swedish Standard and have a shining, near white metal appearance with a surface anchor pattern not exceeding 70μ.
