1.NodalLoad
Whenanoffsetisassignedtoasection,anodalloadremainsappliedtothecorrespondingnoderegardlessoftheoffset.This
resultsinmomentsduetotheoffsettotheneutralaxisasshowninthecaseoffigureb.
2.ElementBeamLoads
Elementbeamloadisappliedtotheneutralaxisoftheelementregardlessofthesectionoffsetposition.Inthediagrambelow,the
elementbeamloadisappliedtotheneutralaxiseventhoughthesectionisoffsetfromthereferenceline.Thereforetorsional
momentfromtheelementbeamloadisnotinducedbytheoffset.Notehoweverthattheelementbeamloadisdisplayedonthe
referencelineasifitisappliedtothereferenceline,butitisactuallyappliedtotheneutralaxis.
Calculationofmemberforcesoftheelementsforwhichsectionoffsetisapplied
Memberforces(axialforce,shearforce,moment&torsion)ofabeamelementarecalculatedrelativetotheneutralaxis.Thisistru
