INTRODUCTION

Puto is a type of Filipino muffin or cake usually made with rice flour. These muffins are
always steamed and can be a variety of colors. Putos are often topped with cheese. Properly
prepared puto imparts the slightly yeasty aroma of fermented rice batter with a light scent of
anise. It should be neither sticky nor dry and crumbly but soft, moist and with a fine uniform
grain. The essential flavor should be of freshly cooked rice.
In the last few decades, home cooks and mass producers have experimented with
variations in the shape, texture, flavoring and color of puto. SWEET STREET ENTERPRISES
manufactures carrot-flavored puto.
Carrot, as one of the most popular root vegetables, is very healthy. Thanks for that carroteating icon, Bugs Bunny, generations of children have grown up knowing that carrots are good
for the health. They are usually orange, though purple, red, white, and yellow variety exist.
Carrots are best known for their rich supply of the anti-oxidant nutrient, beta carotene.
However, not only this, but it has also cardiovascular benefits and anti-cancer benefits. It is an
excellent source of vitamin A. They also provide vitamin C, calcium and iron. Aside from that, it
also contains fiber, vitamin K, potassium, manganese, phosphorous, magnesium, vitamin E and
zinc. Carrot is a very healthy root vegetable indeed! This is why SWEET STREET
ENTERPRISES decided to mix carrot in puto, side from the fact that puto is a favorite delicacy
of both young and old and can be found in many occasions.
SWEET STREET ENTERPRISES has a positive outlook that this product will be a boom
in the market. Making and selling puto is a hit business opportunity. It is easy to make, requires a
little capital and is affordable, but like any other business, patience and hardwork are needed.
