System design studies Electrification

Traction Power study

 Minimum catenary voltage clearly above 19kV (acc. IEC 60850)
 Transformer power below 25MVA
 Feeder cable currents within limits
 Assessment of energy recovery showed, that moderate energy recovery to the HV
network takes place
Dynamic simulation Pantograph – OCS interaction
 no stitch wire necessary
Harmonic Study (at point of common coupling)
 individual harmonic voltages as well as the total harmonic voltage distortion are
below the specified limits of Engineering recommendation G5/4
Relay coordination study
 The results of calculation of the different cases have been compared and integrated
to relay setting parameters
Voltage fluctuations (flicker) at PCC
 Value is well within the range given by IEC 61000-4-15
Unbalance
 Calculations show that the max. voltage unbalance admitted by MEA will be kept
under all conditions

Operation experience

 Commercial service since 23rd of August 2010

 All services are in operation
 City Line and Express Trains reached forecast of 50.000 passengers/day
(Estimated: 230.000 passengers/day in 2037)
 Passenger load for City Line Trains very high especially at rush hours
 SRT already asked for 5 more trains
