Summary of Unit - The purpose of this unit is to allow students to explore the natural phenomenas of
planet Earth. Over the next six weeks, students will engage in a variety of group work and individualized
critical thinking activities in to expand ideas about earthquakes, volcanoes, mountains, fossils, geologic
time and fossil fuels. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and investigate thoughts of their
interests related to these topics. This unit contains a learning in a variety of modalities including hands on
investigative experiments, worksheets, group discussions, projects and quizzes.
