Birds belong to a class of warm blooded vertebrate animals with feather covered bodies. Next to the mammals,
birds are the most important group of land-living vertebrates. All birds have feathers, although in some types,
particularly those that can not fly, the normal structure of the feathers may be much modified and be downy,
woolly, or straw like. The forelimbs of birds are modified into wings. The bony part of the tail, except in the
very earliest fossil birds, is very short, and the visible tail is composed of feathers only. The teeth are absent
except in some fossil forms. As in mammals-the only other group of warm blooded animal-the circulation is
highly perfected so that there is no mixing of arterial and venous blood, but the arrangement of veins and
arteries by which this is accomplished, is different in the two groups. Birds have keen hearing, although they
have no external ears. The sense of sight also is very keen, but the sense of smell is weak or lacking, except in a
small few vultures and other birds.

Once upon a time, there was a poor farmer who dug up a big box in his field. He took it home and
showed it to his wife. His wife cleaned it and kept it in their house. One day, she dropped an apple into it.
Immediately the box began to fill up with apples. No matter how many were taken out, others took their place.
So the farmer and his wife sold the apples and were able to live quite comfortably.
Then the farmer dropped a coin into the box. At once, the apples disappeared and the box began to fill
itself with coins. Everyday the farmer and his wife collected hundreds and hundreds of coins from the box. Soon
they became very rich.
Now the farmer’s grandfather lived with the couple. He has not very strong and he could not go out to
work. So the farmer asked the old man to help him take the money out of the box. When his grandfather became
tired and wanted to rest, the farmer shouted at him, “Why are you lazy? Why can’t you work harder?”
The old man did not say anything but he continued working until he fell inside the box and died. At
once the money disappeared and the box began to fill up with dead grand fathers.
The farmer had to pull them out and bury them. To do this, he had to spend all the money he had
collected. When he had used up all the money, the box broke and the farmer was just as poor as he was before.

Once upon a time there lived a little girl named Snow White. She lived with her aunt and uncle because
her parents had died.
One day she heard her uncle and aunt talking about living Snow White in the castle because they both
wanted to go to America and they didn’t have money to take Snow White with them.
Snow White didn’t want her uncle and aunt to do this so she decided to run away. The next day she ran
away from home when her aunt and uncle were having breakfast .She ran away into the woods. She was very
tired and hungry. Then she saw a little cottage. She knocked but no one answered. So, she went inside and fell
asleep.
Meanwhile the seven dwarfs were coming home from work. The went inside there they found Snow
White sleeping. Then Snow White woke up. She saw dwarfs. Doc, one of the dwarfs asked: “What is your
name?” Snow White answered, “My name is Snow White.”
The dwarf said, “If you wish, you may live here with us.” Snow White said, “Oh, could I? Thank you.”
Then Snow White told the dwarfs the whole story about. Snow White and the seven dwarfs lived happily ever
after.
A young and very beautiful princess lost her ball in the water while she was playing by the side of the
lake. She began to cry so sadly that the frog who sat beside the lake croaked to her, “What will you give me if I
get you your ball back?”
All the gold you could wish for!” replied the princess. “No, I’ll asked only that I’ll be allowed to stay
with you and be your friend,” said the frog. The prince gave her word (what did such promise cost her if it mean
she could have her ball back?), but she had absolutely no intention of keeping her promise. In fact, the moment
she had her ball back she ran off so fast that the frog could not keep up with her. Nevertheless, after a while the
frog arrived at the palace.
As soon as she saw the frog, the princess was frightened. She ran to ask for help from her father, but
the king, who knew what had happened, ordered his daughter to keep her promise. So the princes picked the
frog up gently in her hand, but, with a shiver she let it drop to the ground again. But that one brief touch was
enough to break the spell that bound the frog, and caused it to run back into a young and handsome prince he
had been before.

Miss Crow has stolen a big piece of cheese, and flew away on to a branch to enjoy it. A sly fox, who
wanted the cheese for himself, came up and spoke politely to her.
“Oh, Miss Crow, how beautiful you are! What a lovely beak, what a lovely feathers you have! What
pretty eyes! If only you could sing, you would be the most beautiful bird in the world.
Very pleased to hear all of this about herself, Miss Crow gave a loud croak to show that she could
sing. Of course, the moment she opened her beak, the cheese fell down, and Mr. Fox ran away with it, laughing
loudly.

Cars should be banned in the city. As we all know, cars create pollution, and cause a lot of road deaths
and other accidents.
Firstly cars, as we all know, contribute to all most of the population in the world.
Cars emit deadly gas that causes illness such as bronchitis, lung cancer and ‘triggers’ of asthma. Some
of these illnesses are so bad that people can die from them.
Secondly, the city is very busy. Pedestrians wander everywhere and cars commonly hit pedestrians in
the city, which causes them to die. Cars today are our roads biggest killers.
Thirdly, cars are noisy. If you live in the city, you may find it hard to sleep at night or concentrate on
your homework, and especially talk to someone.
In conclusion, cars should be banned in the city for the reasons listed.
School uniform is special clothes worn by all students of a particular school. The uniform of a school
may differ from others. Why should schools use uniforms? Below are some reasons.
First of all, Notre Dame’s Department of Sociology produced a study in 1998 concerning school
uniforms. Their findings using 10th grade students showed that uniforms have no direct effect on “substance
abuse, behavioral problems or attendance.” It also claimed a negative effect on student achievements for those
students considered ‘pro-school’.
Secondly, uniform helps to create a strong sense school ethos and a sense of belonging to a particular
community. As such it promotes discipline and helps to drive up academic standards, which is why a uniform is
often adopted by schools which are being reopened with a fresh start after being classified as failing.
Finally, uniform acts as a social leveler, under which all students are equal in the eyes of the school and
of each other. In institutions without uniform students are often competitive and worry endlessly about their
appearance and the clothes they should wear. Pupils without expensive designer clothes and trainers may be
singled out as social outcasts, or stigmatized as being from poor backgrounds. For these reasons many parents
prefer uniforms as they save them money on buying clothes for school wear. Considering the findings, schools
should implement the uniform as their identity. The government should also publish some kind of rule which
makes uniform compulsory for schools.

Everybody should change their way of life to reduce global warming. There are several things that we
can do. One of them is by buying and consuming fresh local groceries as much as possible. It of course includes
local vegetables, fruits, bread, etc.
Local groceries don’t need much transportation to get it into the market. It of course means, the amount
of carbon dioxide produced is less than the groceries from other region. Therefore, by buying local groceries we
are helping reduce the amount of carbon dioxide produced.
Consuming fresh groceries instead of frozen ones are healthier for us. Furthermore, fresh food or
groceries means no requirements for it to be freeze up. It means that no electricity is needed and saving energy
means reducing carbon dioxide and money.
So, from now on we should consume fresh local groceries to reduce global warming.
Even though many people think that national activities are usually concentrated in big cities, village
people can still receive information, education and entertainment through television. Take the national and the
world news for example. These programs generally give its viewers the latest information on national and
international events. By watching news programs, village people can keep abreast of what’s happening on the
other side of the world. Other programs featuring the animal kingdom, farm life, cultural events, and health
issues educate the villagers on various aspects of life. These programs can certainly broaden their horizons and
hopefully give them fresh ideas on how to improve their standard of living.
Programs such as music, film series, quizzes, and dance shows with their entertaining nature provide
visual enjoyment. Relaxing at home while enjoying free entertainment is something villagers usually look
forward to after a day of hard work. So, television really offers a lot of benefits to villagers. It gives them access
to information, education, and entertainment, thus widening their horizons.
