Anger Management Program Proposal

PROGRAM TITLE: DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES ON HOW TO MANAGE ANGER


RATIONALE: The program is bases on the research conducted by Briones et.al (2017) on factors
contributing anger among teenagers in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College of Guimba,
Inc. Senior High School learners. It was found out that are several factors contributing to
the feeling of anger on the cognitive, affective and behavioral dimensions of anger
measured through survey- questionnaire adopted from (Furlong and Smith, 2010). In
connection, this program proposal is suggested to help the students facilitate and manage
the feeling of anger which in turn destructive and causes violence if not given priority.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: This proposed program aims to help the students of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College,
Inc to:
a. Understand the nature of anger in different context
b. Determine the sources of anger and its effect on psychological, emotional and
behavioral aspects; and
c. Learn the different techniques on how to manage anger given a provoking situation.
MATERIAL RESOURCES: The venue is expected to accommodate large number of participants (i.e closed- room and
free from extraneous factors such as noise)
a. Sound system should be provided;
b. Visual presentation such as LCD projector and laptop;
c. Chairs and tables for workshops;
d. Writing/ coloring materials for group activity; and
e. Attendance sheet, evaluation sheet and certificates

8:00- 8:30 AM Arrival and Registration
8:30-9:00 AM Motivation and Warm-up
9:00-9:30 AM Lecture on the nature of anger in different context
9:30-10:00 AM Lecture on the Sources of anger and its effect on:
a. Psychological;
b. Emotional; and
c. Behavioral
10:00-10:20 AM Healthy Break
10:20-11:00 AM Symposium on the “Mindfulness Technique”
(This technique offers participants in focusing into minute details in calming oneself,
reconnecting the environment and lift the idea of appreciation to small thing. In connection
with the feeling of anger, this technique will help individual to control oneself to the
tendency of becoming aggressive and violent when provoked.)
11:0-12:00 AM Workshop on “Mindfulness”
(This time the participants will group themselves according to number and the resource
speaker will step by step give the procedure on mindfulness technique and let the

participants do it. After doing such activity, the participants chosen speaker will share the
big group the learning and benefits they picked from the activity and the lecture and how
they are going to apply this into practical life experiences.)
12:00-1:00 PM Healthy Break
1:00-1:40 PM Symposium on “Expressive Art Therapy Technique”
(This technique is commonly used by the guidance counselor and psychotherapist is
treating depressed and clients who were not able to write or express themselves verbally.
Apparently, this technique can be useful also in releasing the feeling of anger which many
researchers found out that the benefit of this technique is quite good. Originally, this
expressive therapy is adopted from Carl Roger daughter Nathalie Rogers known for the
Person-Centered Approach on Counseling Therapy/ Techniques. In relating expressive art
in techniques to manage anger several and different ways of looking the client’s perception
may be considered.)
1:40-2:30 PM Workshop on Expressive Art Technique
(This time the participants will group themselves according to number and the resource
speaker will step by step give the procedure on mindfulness technique and let the
participants do it. After doing such activity, the participants chosen speaker will share the
big group the learning and benefits they picked from the activity and the lecture and how
they are going to apply this into practical life experiences.)
2:30-2:50 PM OPEN FORUM
2:30-2:55 PM Evaluation
2:55-3:00 PM Awarding of Certificates, Healthy Break and Home Sweet Home

Note: The flow of program may vary according to the resource speaker.

HUMAN RESOURCES The administrators, teaching staff should be well-informed about the program and budget
should be approved by the school administrators. Guidance personnel should take charge of the
different needs, logistics, and other resources before, during and after the implementation of
program. Guidance personnel also should take the obligation to monitor each of the goals and
objectives to sustain the program in its long-term effect.

Resource speaker who is expert in the field so that novelty of learning and skill may be acquired.
This responsibility is shouldered by the guidance personnel.

The program developer should provide a clear financial and projected budget to the personnel
related to financial matters. Budgets which is realistic and attainable in line with the program
input, throughput, outputs and outcome is advised.
