PROCEDURE DETAILS:
4) Open Exhaust line bypass valve monitor condenser back pressure carefully.
5) Seal steam temperature to be increased to >200 0C before charging seal steam.
6) When vacuum come 0.4 abs, charge TDBFP gland steam and maintain is its header pressure 200 mmwc.
7) When vacuum equalised open TDBFP exhaust valve fully.
8) Ensure steam line for TDBFP turbine, drains are in open condition. Open turbine side drains and gland
steam header drain
Start Up Of TDBFP:
16) Open TDBFP suction valve up to 5 to 10% initially for line filling and gradually make it full open from
local after proper venting.
17) Ensure TDBEP pump casing vents should be closed at the end.
18) Start Emergency lube oil pump for trial.
19) If EOP is running normal then AOP can be started and EOP should be stopped.
20) Ensure JOP is running and normal pressure (>40 kg/cm2).
21) Put TDBFP is on barring.
22) RESET the First out & turbine from TDBFP PROTECTION graphics page.
23) Ensure all protections are reset (both trip solenoid reset).
24) Ensure all start permissive is satisfied for remote engage. Ensure 0 speed reference is given to speed
command
25) On remote engage, trip oil will be generated.(>4kg),oil pr above piston (>5.5kg)
26) Oil pr below piston (>4kg),sec oil pr(>1.5kg)
27) Open ESV and wait till open feedback is come in DCS(start up oil pressure becomes 0)
28) Enter speed 1000rpm as reference speed in TDBFP Control Graphics page.
29) Check that TDBFP Turbine CV starts opening (check demand & sec oil pr developing)and TDBFP has
started rolling.
30) Check all bearing vibration & other turbovisory parameters are within permissible range. If not trip the
TDBFP turbine and search the cause.
31) Before rolling make sure live steam pressure >5.5kg/cm2,temp >210deg.put aux gov valve in auto.with
set point 7kg.
32) Let the turbine roll at 1000 rpm for heat soaking till 100% casing temperature reach > 1500C.(observe
exhaust hood temperature
33) Ensure Turning Gear and JOP auto cut out
34) After that, if all parameters are within permissible range start increasing TDBFP speed as per
requirement.
35) Check again for all bearing vibration & other turbovisory parameters are within permissible range. If not
trip the TDBFP turbine and search the cause.
10) //In isolation TDBFP feed water isolation, Steam side isolation and Oil system isolation to be
prepared separately//
