Demo Lesson Plan in Math 4
Quarter 1
I. LEARNING ENDSTATES
THINK: Understands the basic concepts in ordering numbers up to 100 000 in
increasing or decreasing order ( M4NS-lb-13.4 )
IV. ASSESSMENT
Activity 1: Relay Game
Drill: Give the place value of the underlined digit in each number.
3 456 5 782 6 432 8 965
The pupils write a digit on the blank to make the number greater than the number
at the right.
34 _____ 67 34 767
_____ 6 456 65 345
56 7____8 56 748
92 ____ 45 92 345
45 3____5 45 355
V. INSTRUCTIONAL PHASES:
Activity 2: Motivation
Call 5 pupils to stand in front of the class. Let them arrange themselves from
tallest to shortest.
What did you notice about their arrangement? How did they arrange themselves?
Call on another set of pupils. Now arrange yourselves from shortest to tallest?
What consideration did they take when they arranged themselves?
Activity 3: Think, Pair, Share
Say: Look at the space probes.
The weights of three space probes are listed in the table.
By working in pairs, ask pupils to order the weights of the space probes from
lightest to heaviest and then from heaviest to lightest by using a number line.
How did you arrange the weights: lightest to heaviest? Heaviest to lightest?
2. Using a teacher-made power point presentation, study how the given sets of
numbers are arranged.
SET A. 1. 35 689; 38 912; 46 532; 60 102; 75 359
2. 13 829; 25 635; 37 463; 42 135; 74 307
Summarizing:
What are the two ways of arranging numbers?
(Increasing/ascending and decreasing/ descending order)
INTERACTIVE ACTIVITY:
1. Arrange the following vegetable sales of the different classes in decreasing n order.
Grade I------------------ Php 1, 4312
Grade 2-----------------Php 1, 182
` Grade3------------------ Php 1, 713
Grade 4----------------- Php 1, 642

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
Playing a picture puzzle. The group forms the picture of the animal. After which, they
will give the name of the animals.
Group 1: cat
Group 2: horse
Group 3; tiger
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson
Show a mystery box with different animals in it. Identify the animal inside
Suggested animals:
1. dog
2. lion
3. rabbit
D. Discussing New Concepts:
What kind of foods does each animal inside the mystery box eat?
What do we call those animals that eats plant t only?
What group of animals eat plants and other animals?
What do we call those animals that eats other animals?
E. Practice New Skills (Group Work)
Group the animals according to the following classifications. Paste 5 animals only
Group I- animals that eat plants only
Group II- animals that eat both plants and animals
Group III- animals that eat other animals
(each group will present their outputs)
F. Making generalization and abstraction about the lesson
What are the different classification of animals according to the food they eat?
G. Developing mastery
Tell if the following animal is carnivore, omnivore or herbivore. Put them in their proper
column (use manila paper or pocket chart). Each pupil will be given a meta plan
Herbivore Carnivore Omnivore
