Lesson-1 (MEANING OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY )

Educational technology may have many different meanings, but in general, it helps the learners and the

teachers to improve the educational system especially here in the Philippines, and to make the learning

much easier and enjoy. By the help of technology, the students can benefits a lot from it by getting so

much information that the traditional teachings cannot provide. And so as to the teachers who can make

teaching much easier and enjoyable and free from stress and hassle. For me, the educational technology,

nowadays is more needed for the teachers to elaborate the subject matter much easier and insert

knowledge to the different kind learners effectively. Nowadays, it is more difficult to learn without the use

of technology since many of the schools are implementing many ways and methods to use technology to

sustain the needs of the student and teachers in the teaching and learning process.

Lesson-2 ( TECHNOLOGY: BOON OR BANE? )

The easiest way to reflect in this module is that if technology is consuming and overpowering you, you

can consider technology as a bane. And if technology is very helpful and beneficial to us, technology is

considered as boon. Why? Technology helps and improves communication and making the world smaller

with one touch of our hands through social media. We can easily connect and get information from the

technology that we are being used but that doesn’t end there, technology may also have a negative effect

on us. It may be used as a medium of cyber bullying someone and also, pornographic which is very not

good for the minors is in the internet.

Lesson-3 ( THE ROLES OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY IN LEARNING )

Technology can be a delivery vehicle for instructional lesson as what it says in the book. Technology can

also be a teacher; can be instructional materials, or even a partner in learning many things and many

more. Educational technology can be very important in education since it can provide and sustain the

educational needs of the modern learners and educators to make a better teaching and learning

experience.

Lesson- 4 ( SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO TEACHING )

In this module, the systematic approach to teaching by definition in the book, is a scientific way of

imparting knowledge to the learners through organized planning and teaching. Without it, learning is

difficult and complicated and very hard for the teaching and learning process. It is very needed in order

for the teacher to achieve its objective for them to elaborate further the subject matter, and in order for

the learners to learn the contents in the lesson in a step by step process, not in a shortcut way.

Lesson- 5 ( THE CONE OF EXPERIENCE )

The cone of experience is the most basic guide to a step by step process of learning. In the cone of

experience, we can see to it the first steps of learning up until to the highest degree of learning. From the

day we born, we are being taught by our parents in the most simplest way they could provide in order for

us to be prepared in the next step process of learning. But if we failed during the next steps of the

process, we can easily go back and recall the step one since learning is a never ending process.
Lesson- 6 ( USING AND EVALUATING INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS )

Using and evaluating the instructional materials is very important. There are even guidelines that needs

to be followed in selecting the proper instructional materials to avoid confusions in the teaching and

learning process. A teacher should follow the PPPF procedure of the proper use of the materials which

he/she must follow the proper use of instructional materials like preparing his/her self, prepare his/her

students, present the material and follow up. If this proper use of materials is being applied by the

teachers, the academic performance of the leaner will be improved.

Lesson- 7 ( DIRECT, PURPOSEFUL EXPERIENCES AND BEYOND )

The direct purposeful experience is our first hand experiences. In this stage of the cone of experience, we

are being taught by our first teachers, which are our parents. They mostly teach us using our five senses

and it is being called purposeful direct experiences because we are personally learning with our own

common senses without the help of anything but ourselves.

Lesson- 8 ( TEACHING WITH CONTRIVE EXPERIENCES )

Contrive experiences is one way of learning those important things in life that is unavailable inside the

classroom..The teacher may represent a model or mock ups as a real thing for learning. The teacher uses

other alternatives like specimens and objects to represent the real thing that a teacher cannot provide in

reality. For example, solar system cannot be seen with our own naked eyes but with the help of the

models being used in the classroom, this will help the learners to learn what they must learn about the

planets and the moons even if the real example is absent..

Lesson- 9 ( TEACHING WITH DRAMATIZED EXPERIENCES )

It is one way of entertaining the contents of the lessons while learning, it involves dramatization of a

particular topic that will not only help the learners understand the topic, but also, it could also develop

his/her talent through performance based tasks. But in other way around, dramatized experience will take

much energy and will consume much time for preparations and can be one of the reason for hassles.

Lesson- 10 ( DEMONSTRATION IN TEACHING )

Demonstration is the most important aspect in teaching. Demonstrations are certainly more teacher-

centered than hands-on inquiry. With careful lesson planning and questioning techniques gives the

teacher more control in making the subject matter more understandable. It is very important since

interaction of the teacher and students are very present in demonstration. It can enhance and improved

the understanding the lessons by carefully demonstrating each steps systematically.

Lesson-11(FIELD TRIPS )

There are many benefits that a student can get from field trips. Having a field trip or educational tour is

very good for the learners to explore and experience outside activity that cannot be done inside a

classroom. But before having the said tour, the teacher should prepare an itinerary plans. With the help

of it, the flow of the trip or tour will be very pleasant and can be very challenging, too. But with proper

guidance and obedience of the students, field trips are much safer and sound.
Lesson- 12 (THE POWER OF FILM, VIDEO AND TV IN THE CLASSROOM)

The use of multimedia in the modern world is very significant to make the learning more effective and

easy to absorb. Unlike before, teachers are having a hard time teaching their students on a particular

subject matter especially lessons that needs to be picture out by the students to make the learning more

easier. Lessons are much more visualized through film showings and multimedia presentations since

there are a lot of students that can understand visual aids rather than just hearing the lessons from the

teacher. But as what I’ve explained about the technology being a boon in this society, this multimedia is

needed to be use well because if not, it will be useless in the teacher and learning process.

Lesson- 13 ( TEACHING WITH VISUAL SYMBOLS )

Teaching with visual symbols also gives a big impact especially in letting the students understand more

about the specific topic. It is best to used symbols in describing a thing that cannot be seen in naked eyes

or even inside the room. Though there are many benefits that we can get from learning with visual

symbols, but know that there are still disadvantages too. Because a learner cannot depend his/her

learning just by looking at it without proper explanation from the teacher. The teacher has a very

important role on using the symbols.

Lesson- 14 ( MAXIMAZING THE USE OF OVERHEAD PROJECTOR AND CHALK BOARD )

In today’s world, with the use of technology is very important and most of the schools used technology

such as multimedia for the improvement of the teaching and learning process. But one thing is for sure,
chalkboards and whiteboards are irreplaceable even if technology is being practiced in the school. Even

though that there are high technology equipments that are being used in the classroom, we cannot deny

the fact that chalkboards and whiteboards are irreplaceable since it’s the most convenient way of

teaching since then.

Lesson- 15 (PROJECT-BASED LEARNING AND MULTIMEDIA )

Project-based learning has proven to be one of the most effective ways to engage students and provide a

practical application for what they’re learning. When we say project-based, the learning’s of the students

depends on the application they’ve been through their projects. Learning to

create multimedia presentation son their own, boost their critical thinking, to solve problem using

technology and quickly access resources, and communicate with others. It really helps to empower

students, and give them more control in their learning and growth process.

Lesson- 16 (USING A PROJECT-BASED LEARNING MULTIMEDIA AS A TEACHING –

LEARNING STRATEGY )

This strategy of learning is good to use because the learners will really understand the lesson and

activities that they are going to do with their peers. They can get to mingle with other while learning.

They can get used to do things such as projects with proper communication and discussion to produce the

best output they can give to the teacher. The teacher can also produce authentic assessments, create and

study something that was interesting and engaging for them, and provide some real-world learning

experiences.
Lesson- 17 ( ASSESSMENT IN A CONTRUCTIVIST, TECHNOLOGY-SUPPORTED

LEARNING )

In assessing the child’s learning in a constructivist approach, its more like the learners are learning the

lessons by doing things all by themselves. They should construct their own ideas about the given topic

because the teacher is not supposed to spoon-feed every detail to the students. Because if the teachers

will always do the discussion, there’s a tendency that the students will just rely on everything that the

teachers says without discovering them all by themselves.

Lesson- 18 (RULES AND FUNCTION OF AN EDUCATIONAL MEDIA CENTER )

As what I have discussed in the previous modules, educational media center that uses a lot of high

technology equipments that can be primarily used as an instructional material are really needed in the

learning environment. This will help the teachers to become a very efficient teacher and educator in the

teaching and learning process. The teacher will know how to use the technology as an instructional

material and discover more strategies to improve the academic performance of the learners.
