In Lab Exercise No. 01

The time profiles should be drawn for the angles 90° and 135°and described briefly. To obtain the line
diagrams below, please connect the components as per connection diagram. Open the CASSY Lab file

Measurement of us01, uV1, ud, id
us01: Line voltage
ud : DC voltage
id : DC current
uV : valve voltage

Task 1.1
Measurement of us01, uV1, ud, id at α = 90°

Transfer characteristic of AC Static converter circuit with ohmic load

Measure how the root-mean-square value I α is dependent on the control angle in the range from 0° …
150°. The measurements should be taken in 30° steps. Calculate the quotients of the current and draw the
control characteristic of the DC current f(α) = Id(α) / Id(α=0).

Id(α) : DC current (averaged value) depending on angle.

Compare the controls characteristics determined for the ideal case (Theory) and for the measured values
as drawn in the fig. above.

Theoretical results

Id(α) / Id(α=0) = √ (1/π * (π - α + sin 2α ) / 2)

Id(α) / Id(α=0) ----- ----- ----- ----- ---- ---
