Topic:
Thevenin Theorem

Objective:

The experiment to know about the verification of thevenin’s theorem. ” Thevenin theorem
states that a linear two terminal circuit is replaced by an equivalent circuit. ”

Procedure:
The basic procedure for solving a circuit using Thevenin’s Theorem is as follows:

1. Remove the load resistor RL or component concerned.

2. 2. Find RS by shorting all voltage sources or by open circuiting all the current sources.

3. Find VS by the usual circuit analysis methods.

4. Find the current flowing through the load resistor RL.

Circuit Diagram:
Theoretically solve the circuit and we get:
Now by simulation:
First we see the vth vlaue and simulate the circuit:

We see that that theoretically we have same value of vth as we have value by simulate the circuit

And the current across R1 and R2 we find theoretically is 0.33 as we see above figure in theoretical
portion .
Now after finding the Rth by shorting the all voltage sources.we find the load resistance current.

Which is same as we solve the circuit theoretically .

Circuit diagram #02

Theoretically we solve the circuit we get:

Now we solve the circuit by simulation:
First we find Vth by simulation the circuit and by removing the load resistance the circuit we
simulate and get Vth is :
We see that we have the same value of Vth as we solve theoretically .

Now by getting Rth by short the voltage source we get the thevevnin circuit is.

The simulation o thevenin circuit is almost same with theoretical solve circuit which is o.899mA.

Conclusion:
Thevenin's theorem is a basic equivalence principle for circuit design. It can simplify a very
complex circuit to a very simple equivalent. This is done by finding the Thevenin Resistance as
well as the Thevenin voltage and current. Once these are known, the equivalent circuit is simply
a voltage source in series with a resistance.
