IMPORTANCE OF ADMINISTRATION:
Physical education is not an only the subject matter but a variety of activity programmers. The
trainer manager of the teams, organizer of the tournaments and in many other capacitites. Each of the
listed duties carry with it specific administrative details and that is why the study of administration is of
great importance of physical educationists
. Knowledge of administrative process is essential for the physical educators to enable them to
cope with any situation pertaining to administration. It will also help them to write reports, drafts, and
budgets and much other office routines. An understanding of this procedure will assure the co-operation
and co-ordination from the other members of the institution. For the attainment of the objectives of PE
program more purposefully efficiently and productively. The knowledge of administration is becoming

The word administration refers to a group of individual often called the executives. Who are

This type of administrator makes the fullest possible use of the formal power of his position
and the informal power of his personal leadership the DA respect the personalities of his
subordinates and relate himself to each staff member to obtain his maximum contribution to the
objectives of the organization. He accepts the opinion of staff members and involves them in
decision making on certain issues. Group participation is encouraged, Freedom of action prevails
regular staff meeting are scheduled. Period evaluation action of programs and progress toward
goal is made effective communication is provided. In this type of administrator, good human
relations are stressed.

The administrator must be able to develop good working relation with the among the staff
and with other department. He should be able to provide friendly climate and working
atmosphere to his working and colleagues, where the individuals could work with a sense of
protection, satisfaction and with the entire potentials.

A good administration should be able to decide the matters with authority and confidence, he
must be able to distinguish between the important and immediate relevant and irrelevant. He
should be able to arrange the program that is better for the future development of the
institution.

decision. Administration should have the qualities of endurance, temple and good behavior
for working long hours.

For achieving the success of any work, it is necessary for a good administrator that he should
