ELECTRONICS CIRCUIT (TCEW)
II. MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING LO 1 – Plan and prepare for termination/connection of electrical
COMPETENCIES (MELCs) wiring/electronics circuits TLE_IACSS9-12TCEW-IIIe-f-21
LO 2 – Terminate/connect electrical wiring/ electronic circuits
TLE_IACSS9-12TCEW-IIIg-i-22
LO 3 – Test termination/connections of electrical wiring/electronics circuits
TLE_IACSS9-12TCEW-IIIi-j-23

III. CONTENT/CORE CONTENT The learners demonstrate an understanding of concepts and underlying principles in terminating
and connecting electrical wiring and electronics circuits
Suggested
IV. LEARNING PHASES Timeframe
Learning Activities
A. Introduction 30 minutes Before any job or activity is undertaken, planning and preparation comes first. Among these
Panimula are the study and analysis of the plan if there is, the sequence on how to undertake the
activity, and the preparation and requisition of the needed tools, instruments and materials.
At the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
o Check materials according to specifications and tasks
o Select appropriate tools and equipment according to task requirements
o Observe safety procedures in using tools and use appropriate personal protective
equipment at all times.
Task #1 Text Twist
A. Directions: Jumbled letters are provided inside Box A. Arrange the letters to form
words relating to electrical hand tools and equipment. Then write the answer in a
separate sheet of paper.

B. Describe the function of at least two of your answer in the first activity.
C. Development 1 hour Basic Electronic Equipment and Hand Tools
Pagpapaunlad Electronic technicians in the past accomplished a task or job with a set of screw drivers,
long nose, side cutter and soldering pencil in troubleshooting. Today, the arrival of the new
circuit technology and microcircuit is introduced in the industry, troubleshooting the
problem is very multifaceted.
A. Common Tools

K-12 –TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD EDUCATION (MELC-BASED LEARNING ACTIVITIES) Activity Sheet
Long Nose Pliers – is used for holding, bending and stretching the lead of electronics
component or connecting wire. See figure no. 1.
2. Side Cutter Pliers – is used for cutting or trimming of connecting wires or terminal leads
in the circuit board. See figure no. 2.
3. Flat Screw Driver – is used to drive or fasten negative slotted screws. See figure no. 3.
4. Philips Screw Driver- is used to drive or fasten positive slotted screws. See figure no. 4.
5. Soldering Pencil – is used to join two or more metal conductors with the support of
soldering lead melted around it. See figure no. 5.
Suggested
IV. LEARNING PHASES Timeframe
Learning Activities
6. Desoldering Tool – is used to unsoldered unwanted parts or component in the circuit with
the support of soldering pencil.
See figure no. 6.
A. Basic Electronic Equipment
1.Multi-Volts Power Supply –is used to supply the desired direct current voltages in the
circuit.
2.Multitester – is used for measuring resistance, voltage and current.
3.Portable Electric Handrill – is used for boring hole/s in the plastics chassis
Electrical Connections
Electrical cable termination is a connection of both physical and cable end that connects to a
different cable, or to the terminal of a component. The cable terminations are designed to
enable the physical and electrical connection of two cable ends, or a cable end and a
terminal of a tool.
Types of Wire Joints & Splices

Soldering
Soldering is a process in which two or more items are joined together by melting and
putting a filler metal into the joint (usually solder or soldering lead) the filler metal having a
lower melting point than the adjoining metal.
You can learn more about the soldering process on pages 58-59 in the TLE Learning
Material by clicking the link below.
