This standard specifies requirements for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) gaskets used in plumbing systems. It covers material properties, manufacturing, marking, packaging and various test methods.

This standard describes material and physical requirements for nonrigid PVC preformed molded and spliced gaskets used in mechanical couplings for drain, waste, vent, sewer, sanitary, and storm plumbing systems.

This standard covers preformed gaskets made principally from virgin nonrigid PVC molding compound conforming to Specification D2287 for general purpose PVC compounds. Recycled materials may be used if requirements are met.

Standard Specification for

Poly (Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Gaskets for Drain, Waste, and
Vent (DWV), Sewer, Sanitary, and Storm Plumbing Systems1
This standard is issued under the fixed designation D5926; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year of
original adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. A
superscript epsilon (´) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.
