Present perfect with adverbs of time: ever, never, already, yet
El presente perfecto es un tiempo verbal en el idioma inglés que narra
hechos que han comenzado en un momento específico en el pasado
pero que siguen teniendo vigencia en el presente. En este sentido,
contrasta con el pasado simple, que se usa para hacer referencia a
acciones que tuvieron lugar en el pasado, es decir comenzaron y
terminaron en el pasado y ya no tienen ninguna conexión con el
presente, como en los siguientes ejemplos:

 Presente perfecto:  I have been married for two years 


Yo he estado casado por dos años.

 Pasado simple:  I was married for two years 


Yo estuve casado por dos años.
La estructura básica del presente perfecto es:

Sujeto + auxiliar HAVE + pasado participio + complemento.

Auxiliar HAVE:
Para este tiempo verbal es necesario siempre utilizar el auxiliar HAVE.
En este contexto, este auxiliar no significa TENER sino HABER.

EVER (alguna vez)


(We use ever in interrogative sentences)
 Have you ever been to the United States?

 Has he ever travelled by train?

 Have you ever failed a class?

NEVER (nunca)
(We use never in affirmative sentences, but the meaning is negative)
 I have never copied in an exam.

 My son has never been to Cancún.

 My brother has never gone to London.

ALREADY (ya)
(We use already in affirmative sentences to express that something
happened sooner than expected)
 I have already bought the tickets.

 They have already sold the car.

 He has already done the math practice.

YET (ya)
(We use yet in interrogative and negative sentences. It suggests a time
later than expected)
 I have not done my homework yet.

 My father has not seen my report yet.

 They have not arrived to the party yet.

 Have you made your bed yet?

 Have you done your homework yet?
