I. PROJECT TITLE
Gender and Development Training on Strengthening Gender Equality and
Development Amidst Covid-19.

II. TRAINING DESCRIPTION

A. RATIONALE

Gender and Development is considered a very important element in

achieving development goal for all women and men in order to effect social
and institutional change that leads to sustainable progress with equity and
growth. It provides equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities that all
persons should enjoy regardless of whether one is born male or female.
Equal acceptance for men and women in terms of skills, opportunities and
social treatment are best achieved through individuals’ sensitivity in the
promotion of gender equality in the middle of pandemic, COVID-19. That is
why training, seminar and workshops for teaching and non-teaching personnel
were organized to assess and strengthen gender equality and development in
the school communnity even in this current situation.
In connection with this, Sampaloc National High School School Head,
Faculty and Staff will join together for a 2- Day GAD Seminar/Workshop with
the theme, “Transforming Men and Women of SNHS to be More
Empowered and Responsible Through a Unified GAD Activites.” on
August 5-6 2021 at Batis Aramin Brgy. Malupak Lucban, Quezon.

The institution will follow mandatory health standards and

protocols, in addition to the minimum public health standards prescribed by the
Department of Health through Administrative Order No. 2020-0015 dated
April 27, 2020.

The 2-Day Seminar/ Workshop aims to:

Srengthen DepEd Quezon Gender and Development through Project
PU2GAD based from the division Memo No. 356 s. 2020.
Enhance teachers’ professional development in an open symposium
Discuss the importance of gender and development.
Promotes conventional gender health advocacies to intensify gender
development throughout this pandemic.
