B. Description.

The electrical fan EVT605C00 mainly includes :

- An electrical motor driving an axial impeller and supporting a straightener.

- An housing.

OPERATTOK

The electrical motor drives the fan impeller which sucks the air through the housing.

The straightener ensures an axial air flow.

During n o m l operation the electrical fan will be supplied under 115 Vac / 400 hz by the
TECHhrOFAN inverter RE0605AAO.

TESTING AND TROUBLE SHOOTING

1. FUNCTIONAL TEST,

A. Aerodyanamic measurements.

- Install the fan onto a normalized test bench NFX 10-200 equipped with a 75 mm (2.9527
in.) diaphragm. (see Figure 101)

- Connect the fan on the TECHNOFAN inverter : RE0605AAO

- Supply it under 115 Vac / 400 Hz / Single-phase.

B. Readings to be taken.

AFe 4 ........................ Static pressure in hPa

I ................................ Current consumption

N 2 10500 trfmn

D. Sim~lifiedmeasurements

With the fan disconnected from any aerodynamic system, supply it under 115 Vac /400 Hz
/ single-phase and record N, I and W. Check that :

N 2 10500 tr/mn I < 1.5 A at inverter terminals, single-phase side W < 150 W

E. Check the insulation.

Apply 250 Vdc between wires and a mechanical ground point. Check that the dielectric
strength is greater than 10 Meghoms.

F. Check the bonding.

- Measure the bonding strength between 2 points of the fan, not electrically insulated and
as distant as possible.
- Current amperage to apply : 10 A
- Check that the bonding strength is lower than 10 miIliohms.
2. TROUBLE SHOOTING,

- If the wheel does not turn in correct direction, check electrical wire connections as specified
in Figure 101.

- If the connections are correct and if various measured parameters do not enable to get the
indicated values in paragraphs 1. C and 1.D, the fan must be checked.

CLEANING

YARNING; The trichlorethane is dangerous. Avoid inhaling fumes. Use in well ventilated
area only. The liquid is highly flammabIe and a skin irritant. Wear protective
gloves. Wash immediately with clean water if skin is splashed with solvents.

CAUTTOIY; Use only specified cleaning materials and solutions, or their equivalents. The
surface protection could be damaged if unspecified materials are used. It is
important that manufacturer's instructions are followed.

A. Using a suitable artist's brush, wash every part removed, one at time, in a bath of cleaning
agent (special material N02)until1 all traces of old materials and contamination have been
removed, except for the following items:

- ball bearings, which are all shielded and life lubricated.

- electrical components.

- painted parts.

- plastic parts (use special material NO1).

Blow the parts by using a low-pressure jet of deshydrated air. Wipe parts with a clean dry
lint-free cotton cloth.

Dry-brush the electrical components and wipe them with a cotton cloth.
