The SIRECON housing and OPTILUX tube unit are both equipped with temperature indi-
cators for 37°C and 40°C. They are used as confirmation of whether the image intensifier
has been exposures to excessive temperature during transport from the factory to the cus-
tomer’s location.
Information about which image intensifiers have been equipped with temperature indica-
tors, and beginning at which Serial numbers, is given below, relative to the particular image
intensifier.
Indicators 0
Blue adhesive stickers with a temperature printed on them. The basic color of the inside
square is white (temperature not exceeded). If the admissible temperature is exceeded,
that inside square turns black.

Fig. 1:
The temperature indicators on the SIRECON housing are located in the vicinity of the iden-
tification labels. These indicators must be read prior to beginning installation.
If one or both indicators on the I.I. housing show that the admissible temperature has been
exceeded by a color change, the 37°C indicator on the OPTILUX tube unit absolutely must
be read. Access to these indicators is described on the following pages.
If exceeding the admissible temperature of 37°C is also found for the I.I. tube, the
OPTILUX tube unit must also be replaced.
Exceptions: SIRECON 40-4 HDR, SIRECON 33-4 HDR-WA, SIRECON 33-4 HDR/W,
SIRECON 33-4 HDR-WD, SIRECON 23-3 HDR-DA,
SIRECON 23-3 HDR-DQ, SIRECON 23-3 HDR-D,
SIRECON 23-3 HDR-DL, SIRECON 23-3 HDR-DX,
SIRECON 17-2 HDR-L (LITHOSTAR 2), SIRECON 23 ISX,
SIRECON 33 MD and SIRECON 33 are replaced completely.
If no change in color is found, remove the temperature indicators on the SIRECON housing
prior to turning the unit over to the customer.
NOTE Return of the SIRECON unit or the OPTILUX tube unit to the
factory must be made with the completed image intensi-
fier-tube unit questionnaire.
Image Quality 0
If the SIRECON unit or the OPTILUX tube unit is replaced, an image quality test must be
performed and documented in the Test Certificate.

Procedure:
The I.I. models used in these systems have temperature indicators for 37°C and 40°C that
can be read only from the outside and which are in the vicinity of the identification labels.
Read the two temperature indicators and evaluate them per the following description.

1. With this Sirecon, the housing is not a bonded housing, but because of its internal design, the input
screen and the MU metal can be damaged.

can be read only from the outside and which are in the vicinity of the identification labels.
Read the two temperature indicators and evaluate them per the following description.
The following illustrations show the different access paths to the indicators on the OPTILUX
tubes.

• Take the power supply off the threaded studs and move it down approx. 2 cm
(2/Fig. 15 / p. 18).
¹ The power supply will now be freely movable
• Lift the power supply until the temperature indicators to the right of the cable become
visible (1/Fig. 16 / p. 18) and read the temperature indicators.
