I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, 85% of the students should be able to:

A. Define graph, bar graph, line graph, pie graph and pictograph;
B. Enumerate different kinds of statistical graphs; and
C. construct bar graph, line graph, pie graph and pictograph.

II. Subject matter:

Topic: Statistical Graphs


Materials: Power point, Writing materials
Reference: Orines, F. (2017) Next Century Mathematics 6 (pp. 469-478). Quezon City: Phoenix
Publishing House.

III. Lesson Proper:

A. Motivation: “2 PICS, 1 WORD”

The class will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will be given bond papers. The students will guess the
words using 2 pictures as their clue. Group leaders will be the one to post it on the board.

They will come up with the following word:

1. Bar graph
2. Line graph
3. Pie graph
4. Pictograph

B. Presentation

GRAPH- is a pictorial representation of data.

Bar graph- is used to show relative sizes of data. It can be vertical or horizontal.
