Where existing sub-grade materials have a CBR of 5 or less, a sub-


base with a minimum CBR of 15 shall be provided with a minimum
thickness of 20 cm. (CBR shall be as determined by ASTM D1883 at SAES-Q-006

95% compaction according to ASTM D1557 or AASHTO T180.) Such Sec. 4.3
subbase cannot be considered an MOT Subbase Class A or B unless it
meets the requirements defined in Tables 4, 5 and 6.

The sub-grade shall be restored by removing all vegetation, filling all SAES-Q-006

The subgrade shall be constructed so that after being compacted it will


conform to the alignment, grade, and cross-section shown on the
