Welcome!
If this is your first time worshiping with us, we welcome you. As a church we are committed to love Jesus Christ and to share His love. We offer three services: 8:30 and 11 a.m. are traditional, and 9:45 a.m. is contemporary. Our ushers and greeters are here to serve you. Please ask them for any help you may need. ~ Our Holy Grounds Caf is a place for light refreshments, coffee, and fellowship on the first and third Sundays of the month from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall. ~ Our Infant and Toddler Nurseries are available every Sunday from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. They are located on the lower level of the church and are staffed with our full-time, professional attendants and parent volunteers. ~ Children's Church for ages four through third grade is offered at the 11 a.m. service and is guided by a parent volunteer. Children will be dismissed after the Children's Message. Please pick up your children from the lower level classrooms of the church following worship. Our Weekly News is a snapshot of activities in our church and community. The Weekly News is also posted on our website: www.esumc.net. Information and Events

Weekly Adult Recreational Basketball meets Monday at 8 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. For information call John at 426-7574. Mens Retreat Weekend - Mark your Calendar for September 9-11, 2011. More information will follow, or call Doug Ritchie at 977-8398. Register Today for the Spiritual Gift Class which will start Sunday, August 7 and continue for four-weeks from 11 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. As part of our church vision to grow as a disciple through Christs teaching and our new member process, these classes will provide you with a better understanding of how God is calling you to serve Him using your gifts and passion. Sign up today in Fellowship Hall. Save the Date - A Church-wide training and orientation day has been scheduled for Saturday, August 27 from 9 a.m. - Noon. Before you start serving in ministry, we want to provide you with an overview of responsibilities and provide you with the basic skills required for serving in your area of ministry. So, mark your calendar and plan to attend. Older Kids, 65+ group, will travel to Hickory Run State Park (Boulder Field) on Monday, August 8. The group will leave the church at 11 a.m. Sand Spring Lake has a swimming beach, disc golf and orienteering. There are 43 miles of trails to walk. Everyone is asked to pack a picnic lunch. For transportation arrangements, we ask that you call Nancy Erdman at 421-2986 if you plan on going. A donation to cover gas for the church van will be taken.

Adult Summer Series - The members of the Stine Sunday School Class invite you to join them in growing deeper in faith through the Summer Satellite Series, Sundays at 9:45 a.m. through August 21. This week's program is: "The Power of the Prophets" with Dr. Bill Donahue. In this program, you can rise to the challenge of understanding and applying the wisdom of the Bible's great prophets. Upcoming programs will include: Aug. 7: When God Winks with Squire Rushnell and Louise DuArt Aug. 14: The Value of Money with Dr. Susan McCarthy Aug. 21: Serving as a Group with Dr. Bill Donahue "Making Love Last a Lifetime" small group study will begin Sunday, August 21 and continues for eight-weeks. Sessions will be offered at 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. In our society, there are so many factors that can undermine a good, strong marriage. Through the humor and clarity of this study, author and pastor Adam Hamilton helps you and your spouse discover how fulfilling your marriage can be when it is rooted in God. Childrens Ministry - Birth to 6th Grade

To register for events or for information, please contact Sue Randall at srandall@esumc.net. Vacation Bible School begins tomorrow and continues all week from 9 a..m. - noon. If you have not signed up you can register at the door. Donations of 3 tubs of Cool Whip, large shell pasta and permanent markers are still needed. See Mrs. Randall if you can help. HELP IS NEED to set up props and classrooms for VBS today from 2-4 p.m. Many hands make light work! Heavy lifters welcome!

Our Very Successful Church Preschool is in need of a certified teacher to join the team! This is a part-time position during the school year (mid-August 2011- early June 2012) . A job description and application are available in the church office or by contacting Sue Randall, Children's Ministry Director at srandall@esumc.net .

Youth Ministries - 7th - 12th Grades

For information, please contact Scott Kuhnle at skuhnle@esumc.net or check out the youth website www.esumc.net/youth where you can find permission forms and information on trips and events. Sunday School is held this Sunday in the Youth Room at 11 a.m. During the summer months we will combine the Jr. High and Sr. High Sunday School Classes. Summer Means Transition Time - All 6th-grade students going into 7th grade and can now participate in Youth Ministry. For a complete schedule visit Whats Happening page on the youth website. NO Sunday Night Youth Program Tonight. Youth Praise Band, which leads our Sunday night worship, practices every Tuesday evening. Interested instrumentalists and singers should contact Scott to participate.

If you're hankering for a specific food, it's probably a craving, not hunger. If you'd eat anything in sight, chances are you're truly hungry!

Do not be anxious about anything, but be in everything, by

prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present our requests to God. - Philippians 4:6 Grief comes in many forms - just to name a few, but not limited to; the loss of a loved one, a job, identity & self-worth, personal independence, empty nests, loneliness and illness. Stephen Ministers have learned the classic stages of grief and what forms of care giving are right at each stage.
