I. OBJECTIVES

IV. PROCEDURES

1. Asking questions from the students about the previous


lesson.
 What was our topic last meeting?
 What do you mean by phrase?
A. Reviewing previous lesson or  What are the different types of phrase?
presenting the new lesson  What are the the difference between noun and

2. Presenting the new lesson which is the "Determine

thunderstorms over the metro Manila, Southern Luzon,
Visayas and Mindanao".

The teacher will ask the students to watch the short


video and kindly familiarize the tone, mood, technique
that the author used.

D. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills #1 After watching the video, the teacher will ask the
(10 minutes) students the following questions.
1. What you have learned from the short video?
2. Based from the video what is tone, mood, technique
and purpose of the author.

Tone- is a manner, a feeling or atmosphere the author
has meant to set in the story or towards a subject.

Mood- is the feeling or atmosphere perceived by the


reader.

Tecnique- The author's technique is a technique in which


an individual author uses in his writing. It varies from
author to author and depends upon ones syntax, word
choice, and tone.

Purpose- The author's purpose is his/her reason for


writing. There are three main purposes for writing. (To
entertain, inform and persuade).

2. Practicing the students in identifying tone, mood,


technique and purpose of the author.

3. Joyful
4. Alarming
5. Bitter

3. If the students where not fully grasp the concepts, the


teacher will provide more examples.
Students will grouped into two. Each group will try to
answer the activity that the teacher will written on

piece and will identify the tone and mood of the piece.

Respond to the piece using the same mood and tone by

writing a two-stanza-paragraph in ½ sheet of paper.

Assignment:

1. Read the poem entitled “Annabelle Lee” by Edgar


Allan Poe and identify its mood and tone. Underline the
