CHAPTER 5

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

The study's findings were summarized in this chapter. It also included the
study's conclusions based on the findings, as well as recommendations based
on the findings and conclusions.

Summary
The goal of this study was to find out what problems and difficulties education
interns had when using flexible teaching methods.
During their internship, teaching interns identified disruptions, out-of-field
teaching, limited resources such as cash and gadgets for online teaching,
unmet expectations, and hazards to well-being such as emotional overwhelm
as challenges. Teaching interns confront challenges such as poor internet
connectivity, difficulty managing virtual classrooms, virtual classroom
distractions, insufficient online teaching skills, and budgetary constraints.

Discussion and Conclusion


Both positive and negative experiences can be used to learn. Others believe it
is the most effective instructor. As a result of the obstacles and
accomplishments they had, the teaching interns in the online teaching
internship admitted to having diverse realizations. Teacher interns'
experiences help them recognize their digital and classroom management
skills. These might help the supervising teacher and school authorities plan
and implement effective blended learning lessons. The benefits of
implementing online teaching methodologies and digital literacy training,
especially in certain subject areas, are obvious. Administrators must act
quickly and provide support. The use of blended learning to strengthen the
teaching skills of teacher interns is not only a required notion, but also a part
of the Philippine curriculum.
The interns' testimonies offered a variety of viewpoints on the depths of their
own experiences teaching online during the COVID-19 pandemic. The interns
discussed their expectations, both met and unmet, as well as the challenges
they had in properly delivering their lessons and managing their classes. They
did, however, acknowledge the importance of a solid support system. They
were nonetheless able to maintain a strong cognitive-social-teaching
presence as a result of this. They also displayed a growth mentality,
resilience, integrity, and tenacity in dealing with the challenges of online
teaching. Despite the difficulties they faced, they experienced successes and
realizations during their online teaching experience.

Recommendations
The researchers have provided recommendations based on their research.
Because this study did not include school children as research participants,
future studies should delve into their perspectives on online teaching and
learning. Because relying solely on the viewpoints of pre-service teachers
may be biased, their perspectives can make a study more complete. As a
result, including school students and other relevant parties in a study can
provide a comprehensive perspective on online teaching and learning during
the pandemic, as well as how the pandemic would affect the educational
environment in the long term. Future research could include include teacher
educators.
Their opinions can assist teacher education program administrators in
identifying the requirements for developing teacher educators with new
knowledge and abilities in online teaching. Because they will eventually teach
pre-service teachers in various courses, their attitudes, preparedness, and
concerns should be considered.
Moving forward, the interns have made several useful suggestions for
improving the teaching internship program's regulations and practices. It is
recommended that plans of action be developed to address the teaching
interns' suggestions.
