The word propaganda means “Manipulation of public opinion”. In other words, it also known as
“persuading people to a point of view upon an issue” or advertising one’s own thought in a
sugar-coated way. The term propaganda literature is referred to as “a piece of art work in which
some hidden meanings are present which the reader can understand through the novel that hidden
meanings ate denote came specific era, event or people George Orwell was not a graduate though
he had a very deep political insight. In animal farm George Orwell used a unique form of
storytelling “label” to explain the Russian communism, European imperialism and the political
situation of the world in the farm of animals who represents the political leaders.
In this novel we came to known the dark aspect of ruler’s face such as lust of power, fame,
disloyalty, manipulation of thoughts, holding of money, use of masses for personal benefits,
unrewarded Laboure.
In the Novel where propaganda was used and which interpretation was taken by the writer. We
can get a great depth of understanding by after reading these points.
Mucinous group of people like the pigs will continue to use propaganda to get power, to
exploit the innocent and central public. So political leader influences the human masses.
Using effective slogans long live Animal farm. Orwell illustrates that propaganda is used to seize
more power, to suppress enemies and unite public on lies.
Throughout the history cruel leader had been using propaganda to control innocent and ignorant
public. Propaganda works to alter people opinions about the purpose for which they perceive.
People in communist states are more unaware to governmental manipulation, because they give
up personal possession and individual freedom upon their leader completely. Writer encourages
the message that educated and aware must try to wake awareness among society.
Orwell’s character use slogans and phrases to influence the animal minds. But pigs are animal’s
well-wisher and they get work done to avoid scarcity of food for their group. They use slogans
and phrases to get them in their side.
“Four legs good, two legs bad “
Sheep were unaware that pigs were taken advantage of them. Actually, slogans are best tool used
by superiors to manipulate inferiors. Bover, the working horse was fully guided by Squealer and
Napoleon. Their words have great effect on his heart. He convinced the other comrades to work
with loyalty.
“Powerful propaganda can quickly effect masses”
Author propagandistic technique is appealing to fear. Fear psychologically effects the minds of
animals. Now fear of power turn in into energy, so animals start obeying their lords. Animals fear
for their lives, they bowed before Napoleon regime. They have fear of coming consequences of
hunger and prison.

Another technique which is used, is blaming others. Snowbell is finally agreed with Winder mill.
Napoleon uses failure of Winder mill for his benefit.

Powerful keep using Boxer's effort for their purpose to strengthen Animal Farm, but when he
becomes unable to work hard, they sold him to butcher. It shows selfishness and cruelty of
affluent.
• Old major identifies humans as the enemy the promises that their lives will better and
easier if they do what he suggests.
He also teaches them easy way to remember song,
Beast of England
• Pigs try to make all other animals to believe in Animalism. Ribbons were denoted as
slavery sugar candy hills as heaven. All there are capitative means.
• Pigs make all other animals to believe scientifically the apples and milk is good for pigs'
health.
• Pigs make animal affairs if they fail to do those jobs fully john will come to rule them the
way to avoid it is allowed pigs to have apple and milk.
• At the beginning animals have 7 commands which they follow but after the time passes,
they themselves started violating them.
• They started sleeping on beds pigs argue that beds is not forbidden but sheets. Sheets are
human invention bed are merely compiled of straws so it must be allowed to pigs to sleep
peacefully.
• They started drinking wine which was prohibited but by the passage of time they started
to use it. They also started to wear dress as to show they are sophisticated to them.
• They tried to pretend Infront of vamper that they have enough food they filled empty
thins with sand to give him impact of plenty of food.
• Nepoleon introduced new song parsing him and animal farm instead of beast of England.
• The crow mosses also help them in propagating their false image.
In the start animals were different to human beings but by the passage of time they get political
insight like human beings which shows that power has its own charm. Ruler is become
successful if he became able to draw his public towards what he wants to lead them. So, it is
confirmed … that leader used blind and dumb means either in the farm of animals
