Lesson Plan for Class Observation in Mathematics 2
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards Demonstrates understanding of time, standard measures of
length, mass and capacity and area using square-tile
units.
B. Performance Standards Apply knowledge of time, standard measures of length,
weight, and capacity, and area using square-tile units in
mathematical problems and real-life situations.
C. Learning Competencies/ Identifying appropriate unit in measuring the length of
Objectives objects.M2ME-IVb-25
II. CONTENT Measuring Objects Using Meter(m) or Centimeter(cm)
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide Pages Module 3 in Mathematics (Fourth Quarter)
MELCs p 270
2. Learner’s Materials Module 3 in Mathematics (Fourth Quarter)
pages
3. Text book pages
4. Additional Materials
from Learning Resources
B. Other Learning pictures, puppets, magic wand (toy) power point
Resources
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson (Start the class reminding the pupils in classroom rules to
or presenting the new lesson ensure learning- focused environments)
Play the Bring Me game.
a. Bring me a comb
b. Bring me a pencil
c. Bring me an umbrella
Which is long, comb or pencil? Pencil or umbrella?
B. Establishing a purpose for Show to the pupils the materials (ruler with centimetre
the lesson (Motivation) scale, meter stick or tape measure). Ask the questions that
follow.
Which is better to use in measuring the length of the
room, the ruler or the meter stick? Why?
C. Presenting Examples / 1. Show how many cm in a ruler(30 cm)and how many cm
instances of new lesson in one meter(100 cm)
(Presentation)
2. Ask pair of pupils to measure the following:
Length of a pencil
Width of a notebook
Length of a teacher’s table
Width of a window
Length of a skirt/pants
Which is better to use in each object cm or meter?
D. Discussing new concepts Ang Yunit na Panukat na Metro at Sentimetro
and practicing new skills #1 Ang yunit na panukat ang nagsasabi kung gaano kahaba o
( Modeling)
at meter stick.
E. Discussing new concepts Show pictures of the following objects. Write on the Show
and practicing new skills Me Card if they will measure the length of the object using
#2(Guided Practice)
m or cm.
a. a road d. a pencil case
b. an eggplant e. a tree
c. a playground f. a boy’s pants
Group 2
skills (Application /
Valuing)
_____1. Ang piyano ay sinusukat ng metro.
