Casing Construction In General (75mm NTB)

• The casing shall be modular in construction with double skin panel housed by an extruded aluminium framework
forming a Non Thermal Bridge cabinet. A unit base constructed of painted heavy-duty steel shall be supplied as
standard extending to all AHU sections.

• Panels 75mm thick shall be constructed of 0.5mm steel sheet with galvanized surface for inner and pre painted
finishing for external skin. Sandwiched together with CFC-free injected polyurethane of 40kg/cu.m nominal density.
Panel edges to have thermal break feature. The injected polyurethane complies with ASTM D 1692 as self-
extinguished (SE).

• Double layered aluminium extrusion shall from the AHU framework with fire retardant grade extruded polystyrene
in-fill for the inner cavity and CFC-free injected Polyurethane of 40kg/cu.m nominal density forming the thermal
break feature of the double layered frame construction.

• Corner pieces (Tri-leg) molded of composite material forms the final integral part of the casing instruction. The non-
metallic construction of the corner pieces enhances the Non Thermal Bridge feature of the AHU casing.

• Access panel/door shall be lined with perimeter heavy gasketing in providing low leak instruction for the cabinet.
The edges of the door are thermally isolated. Large non-conductive molded handles with compression type latches
shall be the handling and securing mechanism.

• The extruded aluminium framework recessed flanges shall be lined with double ribbed gasket providing good
selling qualities with the panel fitting. Sealant was then applied to perimeter joining edges to enhance the cabinet
low leak feature. Externally, a “T” extruded aluminium is used to cover the open edges of the panels with corner
molded pieces forming an aesthetic facade to the AHU cabinet.

Note:

1) External AHU Length = (Section Length + K) mm

K = 110mm for 25mm casing thickness
160mm for 50mm casing thickness
210mm for 75mm casing thickness

2) External AHU Width = (Unit Width + K) mm

3) For Horizontal Unit, External AHU Height = (HH + K + 100*) mm

For Vertical Unit, External AHU Height = (HV + 2K + 100*) mm
*100mm is for unit base

4) If the External AHU Length is > 1900mm, section will be split into several casing for shipping purposes.

Notes :
• Motor weights based on 4 - pole 415/3∅/50Hz induction type TEFC motor foot mounted.
• Motor shall be of #, Y or D.O.L. wiring.
• Standard motor shall be per IEE standard IP54 enclosure with Class F insulation and B Temperature rise complying
with BS2757.

• Maximum ambient temperature 40°C.

• For derivation of motor kW from fan BkW use
Motor kW = Fan BkW x A, where A = 1.20 if BkW<10kW
A = 1.15 if BkW>10kW

• Please refer to your nearest Carrier representatives for special motor voltages or application.
