Narrative Report as Officer of the Week

Duration Period: June 26-30, 2023

I. Introduction

The purpose of this narrative report is to document the observations and activities
conducted to aid the school head in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating school
operations in terms of access, quality, and governance. The primary focus of the
report revolves around the successful preparation of teachers and students for the
King and Queen of Hearts Coronation activity, along with other notable occurrences
during the observation period.

II. Observations and Activities

Successful Preparation of King and Queen of Hearts Coronation Activity

During the observation period, the school successfully prepared for the King and
Queen of Hearts Coronation activity. The event was organized and carried out
effectively, showcasing the talents and beauty of the candidates. However, one
observation made was the limitation in the number of teachers assigned to the
organizing committees, specifically in program and certificates preparation. To
ensure more comprehensive planning and smoother execution next time, it is
suggested that more teachers be involved in the various committees to share the
workload and bring fresh ideas.

Weather Concerns During the Coronation Activity

On the day of the King and Queen coronation, a challenging weather situation arose,
as it unexpectedly rained during the activity. The rain caused inconvenience and
discomfort for the attendees and participants alike. To address this issue in the
future, it is recommended that the school administration consider holding such
events in a closed and convenient area to mitigate weather-related risks and ensure
the event's success.

Conflicts in Taekwondo Practice Schedule

During the observation period, it was noticed that one of the faculty members
conducted taekwondo practice during regular school hours, leading to some students
leaving their classes to participate. To maintain the balance between academics and
extracurricular activities, it is advised that such practices be scheduled during
learners' free time or on weekends. This will allow students to engage in the activity
without compromising their studies.

Product Endorsement by Visitors and Signing of Update Forms

On a different note, there were visitors who endorsed a product to the faculty during
the observation period. While endorsements can sometimes be beneficial, it is
essential for the school administration to establish clear guidelines and protocols
regarding product endorsements within the school premises. The administration
should ensure that any endorsed products align with the school's values and do not
disrupt the learning environment. The officer of the week signed also the update
forms of the 4P’s parents who visited the school on February 15, 2023.

Postponed Class Due to Earthquake

On February 16, 2023, the community experienced a minor earthquake that
prompted the immediate implementation of safety protocols for the learners. The
safety of students and staff was the top priority, and the school promptly activated its
emergency response plan. As a precautionary measure, all classes were
suspended.

III. Conclusion

In conclusion, the observation and activities conducted during the given period
aimed to assist the school head in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of
school operations concerning access, quality, and governance. Notable events, such
as the King and Queen of Hearts Coronation, showcased the success of
collaborative efforts and effective planning. Additionally, the observations raised
concerns related to event location, scheduling of extracurricular activities, and
product endorsements, all of which should be taken into account to improve future
school operations.

The success of the King and Queen of Hearts Coronation event highlighted the
dedication and hard work of the teachers and students involved. However, there is
always room for improvement, and addressing the identified concerns will contribute
to the overall enhancement of the school's environment and academic performance.
By considering these observations and implementing necessary changes, the school
can continue to grow and provide a conducive learning experience for all its
stakeholders.
