2nd Semester, A.Y. 2022 – 2023

PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES:

A graduate of BS in Hospitality Management should be able to but not limited to:


1. Produce food products and services complying with enterprise standards.
2. Apply management skills in F and B service and operations.
3. Perform and provide full guest cycle services for front office.
4. Perform and maintain various housekeeping services for guest and facility operations.
5. Plan and implement a risk management program to provide a safe and secure workplace.
6. Provide food and beverage service and manage the operation seamlessly based on industry standards.

COURSE DESCRIPTION :This course describes the skills, knowledge and performance outcomes required to manage a multiculturaldiversity in
workplace that covers organizations diversity policy, encouraging diversity within work teams, and upholding the benefits of a diverse workplace.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Knowledge
1. Define what is culture and the elements of culture
2. Understand the key features of culture
3. Understand and define tourism according to the UNWTO.
4. Understand what is multiculturalism and learn how to be multicultural
5. Understand why tourism professionals are prone to experience multicultural diversitry
6. Understand two diversities:simple and complex and other diversities common in tourism profession
7. Identify the ways on how a tourism professional should handle customer or guest diversities
8. Identify the ways on how a tourism professional should handle peer diversities
9. Identify the rules to be guided by to make your supervisor feel at ease with you
10. Understand the cultural diversities in all countries we traveled to as ambassadors of Filipino music and culture from 1988 until the present.
11. Identify the five ways to becoming a Diversity Champion with site real-life example for each of these ways

Skills
1. Develop the ability to communicate with people from a range of social and cultural groups with respect and sensitivity and to address cross-
cultural misunderstanding if it arises
2. Create scenarios/ perform role plays of what actions could have been undertaken by the tourism and hospitality professionals to a problem if they are
in a diverse workplace.
3. Translate English phrases with the top 10 dialects spoken in the entire Philippines.
4. Exhibit a picture of a festival and its historical significance
5. Create a motto which will remind yourself of multicultural diversity in the workplace for tourism professionals
6. Develop the ability to communicate with people from a range of social and cultural groups with respect and sensitivity and to address cross-
cultural misunderstanding if it arises
