NOTES:
1. All listed specifications and standards shall conform to the latest edition.
2. All pipe threads shall be cleaned in solvent to remove any cutting lubricant or grease.
3. Instrument air lines shall be pneumatically tested and blown with dry, oil-free air.
4. Gate valves that are located in inaccessible locations, shall be provided with chain operators or valve
extensions as required (as shown on drawings).
5. The inert gas shielded arc welding process (TIG) with shielding gas protection on the underside of the
weld shall be used in welding stainless steel instrument lines.
6. Branch connections shall connect to the top of horizontal headers and shall have shut off valves at the
headers.
7. Drain valves shall be located at the low end of sloped headers and at low points in the piping system.
9. The end prep. for pipe and fittings shall be in accordance with paragraph 7.5 of design standard 4S-
02.01.

10. Reducers on horizontal mill air pipe runs shall be eccentric in order to keep the bottom of the pipe flat.
