MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
The Float valves in the Water storage tanks should be inspected to ensure the proper
functioning.
For the Maintenance of Circulation pump set, following instructions to be followed.
For safety reasons make sure before carrying out any maintenance activity that there
is no pressure in the water system and power supply is switched off.
The Pressure vessel must be checked every 4-6 (six) months making sure that the pre-
charge value corresponds to the factory setting or customer setting (depending on the
system working parameters); in case of need adjust the pre-charge value refilling with
compressed air or nitrogen.
Clean the vessels with water and soap only in order to grant a proper lasting of the
paint.
In case some components are worn out or corroded the vessel must be replaced.
Use only original spare parts coming from the Manufacturer.
Parts of the refrigeration system must be inspected monthly to see if the system is functioning
properly and if there are signs of water. Unit failure usually occur before the unit fails or damage,
therefore periodic inspections are the primary means of preventing most system failures. For
detailed maintenance of Cooled water system, please refer detailed maintenance procedure
mentioned under section Manufacturer literature.

Before starting any (maintenance) work on the system, make sure that the necessary health and
safety requirements are in place. Materials used in any activities should be disposed-off
according to the local authority guideline only. Materials used does not require any specific
disposal instructions which does not have any hazardous materials.
Disposal instructions:
Materials used in maintenance activities and any repaired or replaced items may require
classification as to the type of waste material that they constitute. The Facilities Maintenance
Team is directed to the series of Technical Guidelines (and relevant bulletins) available from the
Dubai Municipality Environment Protection & Safety Section, which cover Hazardous Waste.
The installed items described within this manual which require no special considerations with
regard to their disposal and can be disposed of as general builder’s waste unless contaminated
with a known hazardous material. In the event of such contamination, local procedures must be
followed during disposal.
Any items or materials left over from maintenance\repair work should be stored and used as
spares, where necessary, as this will reduce the cost of future maintenance activities.
OPERATION & MAINTENANCE MANUAL FOR POTABLE WATER PUMP STATION
Known Hazards:
In processing the disposal of any material related to the items as mentioned in the O&M Manual,
Facilities Maintenance personnel must recognize and understand the inherent hazards of sharp
edges, weight and dust particles when handling those items covered by this manual.
Working with the chlorine and pH dosing system. Proper Mask should be used while dealing
with dosing system, as this can cause problems if inhaled. In the event of inhalation, wash with
clean water, and move to an area where we have sufficient air circulation. Contact medical team
for further assistance.
Safe Disposal:
Debris and waste should be swept up or vacuumed and placed in strong polythene bags (such as
the bags used to package the mineral board). If the waste is non-hazardous, dispose of at an
approved waste site suitable for building waste, while observing local regulations.
All wastewater from high pressure stripping operations should be collected and disposed of
through an appropriate disposal agency.
Never dispose of solvent products into watercourses such as drains, sewers, channels or gullies.
