Syllabus For Quantitative Methods With Modeling and Simulation

This document outlines the curriculum for a Quantitative Methods course, including Modeling and Simulation, offered at the University of Saint Louis. The course is designed to teach students how to model and simulate discrete event systems using quantitative methods, with an emphasis on applications in business and computing. Students will learn the fundamental logic, structure, and components of simulation models. They will also demonstrate proficiency with simulation methods and solve real-world problems through modeling and simulation. Assessment methods include essays, quizzes, problem-solving exercises, and a group project applying modeling and simulation to a real-world system.

DESCRIPTIVE TITLE : Quantitative Methods (including Modeling and Simulation)

CREDIT UNITS : 3 units (3 hours lecture)

PRE REQUISITE :

COURSE DESCRIPTION : This course focuses on the processes of modeling and simulation using quantitative methods with emphasis on its applications on discrete
event systems like business processes and computing. Computer representation may also be explored with the use of simulation software. The key
focus is building on modeling and problem solving ability thru exercises and cases, and exploring real-world system problems as a group project at
the course.
